My experience with ratio real estate, specifically with Scott and the supposed property manager Veronica Li, was deeply unprofessional and raised serious concerns regarding discriminatory behavior and unlawful screening practices.
When I called to schedule a simple property viewing, Scott immediately began asking intrusive and inappropriate personal questions that have no place in a pre-application conversation. He repeatedly questioned whether I had a “legitimate job,” as if I were being dishonest despite the fact that I work for the state and have verifiable, stable income. No property manager has ever questioned whether I “actually receive a check” or whether I am “capable of paying rent” before even allowing a viewing. The tone and implication were offensive, uncomfortable, and completely unacceptable.
After the viewing was scheduled, I provided my ID as requested and that is the moment everything changed. Suddenly, Scott’s demeanor shifted to hostile, and uncomfortable. His questions became even more inappropriate, including comments implying that I needed to justify why I “needed such a big house for two people,” which is irrelevant ,invasive, and legally un acceptable. If I can afford the rent, my household size is not his decision to evaluate.
He continued by lecturing me about needing to have a “high credit score,” emphasizing he only wants tenants who can “pay rent on time” and “keep the house clean.” These remarks were condescending and carried a clear discriminatory undertone. None of this was mentioned prior to receiving my ID which raises concerns about bias based on race, color or appearance.
The timing and tone of Scott’s change in behavior after receiving my identification strongly suggest unlawful discriminatory considerations, which violates the Fair Housing act (FHA). Property managers are prohibited from making housing decisions or treating applicants differently based on protected characteristics.
Scott’s conduct is not only unprofessional ,it is legally questionable, discriminatory, and completely inconsistent with Federal and State housing regulations. Ratio Real Estate needs to be investigated for their screening practices, training standards, and compliance with fair housing law. No prospective tenant should ever be subjected to this type of treatment.
I strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with this company.

I recently inquired about a rental property listed on Zillow under Ratio Real Estate, with the listing showing Veronica Li as the property contact. Despite multiple attempts, I was never able to reach her. Instead, I was contacted by someone named Scott, whose conduct throughout the entire interaction was unprofessional, dismissive, and deeply concerning.
When I returned his call, he answered with a harsh and uncomfortable tone, immediately asking, “Are you a realtor or a renter?” After I stated I was neither, he responded rudely with, “Then who are you and what do you want?” This set the tone for the rest of the conversation.
I clarified that I was calling to schedule a viewing for the property, and instead of proceeding courteously, he made several unnecessary comments and asked intrusive questions about who would be living in the home, my employment, and my personal details. When I explained my profession, he questioned whether I could provide “legitimate proof of income” and made belittling remarks about my organization — entirely out of line, unprofessional, and irrelevant to the simple request of viewing a property.
The situation escalated further when I disclosed that I have two service dogs, which the listing specifies are permitted. As soon as I mentioned one of the dogs is a Rottweiler, his attitude shifted drastically. Suddenly, I was told the property was “not ready to view,” yet someone else was able to view it shortly thereafter. When I followed up the next week, Scott informed me that the owner had decided not to allow any animals , including service animals which is a clear violation of housing laws.
Due to the discrimination and blatant unprofessionalism I experienced, I have filed formal reports with BBB,FHAP and HUD. No prospective tenant should ever be spoken to or treated in such a manner. Ratio Real Estate is in serious need of training in customer service, legal compliance, and basic professionalism. Scott, in particular, should not be in a role involving public communication or property management until he receives proper training.
I hope this review helps prevent others from experiencing the same mistreatment.

Veronica helped us sold our property. The whole process was very smooth. She is very good at communicating with different parties with strategies, and also makes sure we are aware of each progress during the sales transaction. She is very trustworthy and countable.

I was planning to sell my house in Florida and was introduced to Veronica by a friend and I’m so glad I found her! She is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and guided me through every step of the closing process with clarity. Veronica was always accessible and ready to assist. I highly recommend her!
Veronica is very professional and kind to work with. She essentially handled all the hassles involved when I bought a house, which makes the whole experience super smooth. She coordinated with loaner, title company throughout the process. She is also very patient when explaining any of my questions on paperwork, or the procedures or sometimes I was just being picky. I would definitely recommend her as an outstanding and reliable real estate agent.
