Response to Dominium:
Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that I have already reached out multiple times to management and maintenance without resolution. My father is bedridden, on hospice, and cannot go without air conditioning in Florida heat. This is not simply “dissatisfaction” — it is a health and safety emergency.
Generic assurances are not enough. What immediate steps will Dominium take to protect my parents’ wellbeing — such as providing temporary accommodations until repairs are complete? Families here deserve more than copy-and-paste replies; we deserve action and accountability. And I am requesting Dominium, not Heron Ridge, to contact me.
This property may be “newly built,” only a year or so old, but the way it is run is anything but safe, professional, or dignified. My family has experienced repeated security issues, ADA violations, safety hazards, and gross neglect of maintenance responsibilities.
Security & ADA lapses: Unsecured access panels and doors that failed to meet basic compliance have been constant issues. Emergency maintenance calls often go unanswered with no follow-up, leaving vulnerable residents without support. Even the fire department was unable to reach an emergency contact, and on-site staff could not provide one when asked. This demonstrates a blatant disregard for resident welfare and the complete absence of an emergency action plan (EAP).
Maintenance failures: Critical systems such as air conditioning have gone unresolved for unacceptable periods. Staff have refused to assist when approached directly, and legitimate requests for help have been brushed off instead of addressed. Supervisors have, on multiple occasions, responded with hostility, unprofessional remarks, or outright threats rather than solutions.
Not isolated: This is not just my family’s experience. You can approach almost any resident here and hear the same feedback. On-site staff, including the assistant manager in the leasing office and the maintenance supervisor, must be held accountable for their inaction and inability to perform their duties.
A pattern of neglect: These are not isolated incidents but part of a pattern of neglect and retaliation against residents who simply want safe, livable conditions. My parents — seniors, one bedridden — should not have to live in fear that reporting issues will be ignored or met with intimidation.
Heron Ridge Senior Housing markets itself as a modern, safe option for seniors, but the reality is very different. Families deserve transparency, accountability, and respect — not ongoing safety hazards, unanswered emergency calls, and dismissive staff.
Until management takes responsibility and corrects these systemic problems, I cannot recommend this property to anyone seeking safe and dignified housing for their loved ones.
