    I’ve lived here since Apela House first opened. Bugs are a huge issue here. When I first moved in, my washer didn’t even work. I also had an ant infestation, couldn’t even have honey sealed in the cabinets. To add on to that, there was a really bad gnat infestation too. You couldn’t even walk the halls without seeing an army of gnats. To my knowledge this situation was handled but sometimes, they still get in. Mind you, the complex is brand new. My issue isn’t with the staff, the new staff that is(the old staff was a nightmare). They are wonderful and handle all matters (that they can asssit) accordingly. Lena is great and responds to any questions / concerns promptly. I’ve spotted a roach in my shower ceiling & I live on the THIRD FLOOR. Never in my life have I seen a roach in ANY of my previous apartments. It could’ve only gotten in through yet another mysterious crack or gap. This building is built POORLY. Many cracks between the floor and the baseboard, where insects like ants got in. Maintance eventually came to seal them with caulk but again, this is a brand new property. That should never be an issue, OR it should’ve been done prior to move in. Now, it just looks a hot mess. The doors in my apartment aren’t even cut right so they don’t reach the floor, leaving huge gaps. Walls are EXTREMELY thin, I can literally hear my neighbor simply coughing (who complains about noise 24/7as if the walls aren’t thin). I can also hear when people are walking through the hall and exiting through the exit door by my apartment as it slams shut. The halls are dirty, dead bugs are in the corners. This property is horribly built / upkept. Lastly, the water pressure in the toilet is low and my shower drains/ pipes weren’t even white!!! They were literally a brown color upon MOVE IN. The drain also STINKS. It appears either they used refurbished pipes OR this building was sitting here unlived in for quite some time. I’m so disgusted everytime I look down there washing my hair. The best thing about this place is the common areas. My last apartment had cleaners that cleaned every floor M-F. Here, it appears only the common areas get swept / cleaned daily. This complex had soooo much potential but whoever owns it hired horrible builders. There is nothing luxury about this place. Cheap flooring/ walls, & cheap fixtures. This was a rushed project CLEARLY. For that i’m leaving 1 star.

    The new management team is so nice! Lena is very helpful and attentive. The maintenance team is quick to answer work orders. The clubhouse is 24 hours and perfect for me to study in! Overall I am happy with my stay here at Apela House!

    Amazing customer service. Very very helpful. Miss Lena was the one who helped us with all the information and made sure to help us find a better environment for work and get away from certain circumstances.

    We toured this property with Helena and the whole experience was amazing! Shes very kind & knowledgeable & answered every single question I had. I felt completely at ease & as we all know moving is STRESSFUL! This was the 3rd property we toured and the only one that gave me peace of mind. Thank you for making the process so smooth sailing Helena!

    I gave Apela House plenty of time to get things together, but after the switch to new management, it has only gotten worse. The previous team made us pay a fee and submit our dog’s DNA to track pet waste. Now the new management isn’t even doing the program, refuses to refund us, and clearly isn’t holding anyone accountable—there is dog poop everywhere. The hallways and elevators are disgusting, constantly filled with dirt, trash, and bugs. They’re never properly cleaned, and it shows. Bugs are still a huge problem, and nothing gets resolved no matter how many times you report it. The new management team is an embarrassment. They are unorganized, unresponsive, and not upholding the lease agreements we were given at move-in. This place is not taken care of at all, and it keeps getting worse. There are FAR better places to live in the area. Avoid Apela House at all costs. I wish someone had warned us.
