Khoa, one the receptionists at this building, is misogynistic, hostile, aggressive, and shockingly unprofessional. When I came to pick up a package, Khoa was unable to locate it and immediately blamed the delivery person, even though he had no proof. When I calmly pointed out that the package might be in the mountain of packages on the floor, he began using profane, degrading language. He insulted me personally, saying things like “you are ugly and that’s why you can’t get a boyfriend” and “your mouth stinks.” He also pretended to spit in my face. I am a petite woman, which might have made me think he can intimidate me.
When I asked who was on duty when the package arrived (which had been delivered days earlier), he initially refused to tell me, claiming it wasn’t his job. He then pointed his fingers aggressively in my face while continuing to yell and insult me. Worse, he threatened me directly, saying “I’m going to fight you if you come down to the office tomorrow,” and shouted “go to your room,” which was both infantilizing and demeaning.
His conduct is completely unacceptable in multiple ways:
Sexism & Misogyny:
His comments targeted me as a woman, with remarks about my appearance and relationship status—clear examples of misogynistic and sexist behavior. Saying “you’re ugly and that’s why you can’t get a boyfriend” is a deliberate attempt to humiliate and degrade me based on gender that is unacceptable for anyone to make, let alone someone in a customer-facing role.
Verbal Harassment & Threats:
Making personal insults crosses every boundary of appropriate behavior and threatening violence (“I’m going to fight you”) is not only abusive—it could be grounds for legal action.
Infantilizing & Power-Driven Language:
Telling a woman to “go to your room” is condescending, patronizing, and infantilizing.
Physical Intimidation – Finger Pointing:
Pointing fingers in someone’s face during a disagreement is aggressive, disrespectful, and borders on physical intimidation.
It signals hostility and a complete lack of professionalism, escalating what should have been a routine interaction into an emotionally unsafe confrontation.
Unprofessional & Untrained:
This conduct is the exact opposite of what’s expected from someone in a customer-facing, service-oriented role. It reflects a complete lack of training, emotional maturity, and basic standards of respectful communication.
Khoa’s behavior was not just rude—it was abusive, threatening, and steeped in misogynistic, power-driven hostility. No resident should be subjected to intimidation or verbal assault in their own building. Until the management of 925 Apartments’ takes immediate action to stop this behavior, I strongly caution prospective tenants—especially women—against moving into a place where this kind of toxic behavior is allowed to continue unchecked.
