We recommend visits to any one of our numerous museums (Mystic Seaport, Submarine Force, Lyman Allyn, Avery Coop, and and Mystic Museum of Art... just to name a few!)!
We’ve lived at the Ledges for almost 3 years in both an apartment and a townhome. From day 1, the team at the Ledges have been great, they have been very welcoming, kind and polite. The maintenance team are also great and resolve any issue really fast and without any fuss, they really are great people. The facilities are also great, especially the pool in summer - it’s kept to a high standard. I’d recommend the Ledges to anyone relocating to Groton - we’re really happy here.

I have been living at the Ledges apartment community for 4 years now, and I couldn't be happier with my experience here. From the moment I moved in, the level of service and care from the staff has been exceptional.
Luis in the office is truly a gem. He is always so responsive and pleasant, making every interaction a joy. Whether it's handling paperwork or addressing any questions I have, Luis along with Gabrielle and Nayonni are consistently professional and friendly, making me feel valued as a resident.
The maintenance team (Victor, Hugo, and Jesus) deserves special recognition as well. They are incredibly attentive and efficient, always going above and beyond to ensure that any issues are resolved quickly. It's clear they take pride in their work, and their dedication shows in the well-maintained condition of the community.
Thanks to the efforts of Luis, Gabrielle, Nayonni, Victor, Hugo, and Jesus, I am proud to call the Ledges my home. Their commitment to providing excellent service makes living here a truly enjoyable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the Ledges to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-managed community.

My husband and I moved in 9 months ago and have not regretted it at all. From the very beginning the office staff has been great to work with and the maintenance team are awesome! When ever you need anything it is done. They keep the property and facilities in beautiful condition and in the winter you never have to worry about the roads or parking areas. And there are always fun community events. We have always been home owners so this transition was scary for us but we are very happy renters now.

My husband and I moved here in 2018. We fell in love with the apartment's large windows, bright rooms, crown moldings and large closets. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The maintenance staff responds swiftly to any concerns we might have, no matter how minor. We appreciate the secure entries to the buildings which contributes to our sense of safety here. We also enjoy the large pool and the events organized by the office staff for all the residents and families. We highly recommend The Ledges Apartments as a great place to live!

This place gets a 2.5 - 3 stars from me and I’ll explain below why that is.
Pros:
- The units themselves are all kept in good repair so despite the units being a bit older, they don’t feel dated because they’re well-maintained.
- The units also have gas stoves—a huge decision point for me.
- Each unit comes with a washer and dryer.
- The Ledges also has a pool, although the hours it is open is restrictive (doesn’t open until 10am).
- Pet-friendly (though they charge an absurd “pet fee” as well as monthly “pet rent”).
- There is a gym (two, actually), but I can’t speak to the quality as I never used it.
Cons:
- The common areas (i.e. hallways, elevators, etc.) are in poor repair.
- The mailboxes are tiny and the USPS won’t leave parcels at your door, so unless you catch them at the mailbox, you have to take a trip to the post office.
- The water tastes horrible.
- Xfinity is the only ISP available.
- There’s only one trash receptacle and is often overflowing, and it’s at the front of the complex (which can be a pain if you live in one of the back units).
- You have to pay close attention to your lease agreement—you have to provide SIXTY days notice ‘intent to vacate’ instead of the standard 30.
- If you don’t renew and default to a month-to-month lease, the monthly rate is your rent +33%!!! So say you had a $1,000 lease, if you let it go to month-to-month, you’ll pay $1,330 a month!!!
- Final point—when The Ledges sent me paperwork to renew my lease, the updated terms and agreements included a $170 increase in my rent which was over 12%!!! Sorry, that’s not adjusting for inflation; that’s straight up poor business etiquette. I fully planned to renew my lease but I expected there would be a 1-2% increase (if any increase at all). So due to that ridiculous increase, I opted not to renew my lease and instead move at the end of my contract. Consider yourself warned!!
