Moving into the Briarwood building loft apartment was honestly one of the worst decisions we’ve made here. We previously lived in another building on the property and wanted to “upgrade” to one of the newly renovated units. We were excited about what was advertised—updated appliances, countertops, etc. But everything fell short very quickly.
The stove we ended up with was not the same model we were shown. The bathroom “upgrades” are laughable—our bathroom mirror is literally held up by cheap plastic clips you could buy at a dollar store. Our old apartment had a garbage disposal, but this “renovated” one doesn’t, even though there’s still a switch on the wall for one… it’s just a dead switch now. The loft is aesthetically nice, but for some reason they removed the ceiling fan from the upstairs area, which makes it uncomfortable during warm weather.
When we first moved in, the dishwasher wasn’t even properly connected. It leaked all over the floor. I would hope someone inspected the apartment before leasing it out, but apparently not.
The biggest issue is the noise. The hallway walls are paper thin. You hear everything. And the outside entrance door slams CONSTANTLY. Every time it slams, the entire apartment vibrates. It got so bad we had to move our bedroom upstairs to get away from the noise. Even then, it’s still noticeable. To top it off, a fire alarm unit in the building keeps beeping, and even though we’ve reported it multiple times, the problem still continues.
Parking is another headache. If you only have one car and your assigned spot—fine. If you have a second vehicle, good luck. The back lot is always full and extremely frustrating to deal with.
Overall, this place looks nice on the surface, but the quality and comfort are just not there. Very disappointing after being loyal residents here.
