Moving into the Briarwood building loft apartment was honestly one of the worst decisions we’ve made here. We previously lived in another building on the property and wanted to “upgrade” to one of the newly renovated units. We were excited about what was advertised—updated appliances, countertops, etc. But everything fell short very quickly. The stove we ended up with was not the same model we were shown. The bathroom “upgrades” are laughable—our bathroom mirror is literally held up by cheap plastic clips you could buy at a dollar store. Our old apartment had a garbage disposal, but this “renovated” one doesn’t, even though there’s still a switch on the wall for one… it’s just a dead switch now. The loft is aesthetically nice, but for some reason they removed the ceiling fan from the upstairs area, which makes it uncomfortable during warm weather. When we first moved in, the dishwasher wasn’t even properly connected. It leaked all over the floor. I would hope someone inspected the apartment before leasing it out, but apparently not. The biggest issue is the noise. The hallway walls are paper thin. You hear everything. And the outside entrance door slams CONSTANTLY. Every time it slams, the entire apartment vibrates. It got so bad we had to move our bedroom upstairs to get away from the noise. Even then, it’s still noticeable. To top it off, a fire alarm unit in the building keeps beeping, and even though we’ve reported it multiple times, the problem still continues. Parking is another headache. If you only have one car and your assigned spot—fine. If you have a second vehicle, good luck. The back lot is always full and extremely frustrating to deal with. Overall, this place looks nice on the surface, but the quality and comfort are just not there. Very disappointing after being loyal residents here.

This place is an absolute joke. When I first went to move in, they contacted me a week before my move in date to push it back two weeks as they said the renovations weren't ready. Come actual move in day, I show up at 10am with my movers to find a whole crew of people in the apartment still finishing renovations. They needed to install the oven/stove and fridge. They were painting the walls and railings. I had to wait 4 hours before I could have my movers bring my stuff in and then had to wait more for the renovators to be done. Sure they comped me for the day and paid the extra time the movers had to wait, but a notification or something would have been nice. The apartment itself was okay, but everything else about the complex was awful. If you ever need to get a hold of the office, good luck. They very rarely pick up their phone and you end up having to leave a message with their answering service 9 times out of 10. Even though the building is supposed to be smoke free, people smoke on their front porch so if you live below a smoker, your place is going to stink if you want to try and have your windows open. Building security is a joke since their own cleaning crew will prop the building doors open and leave them propped open ALL DAY. Residents speed through the parking lot without a care in the world, even with speed bumps. They also don't stay on top of their building heat as were a few days during the winter where the heat wouldn't work at all (usually on a weekend when no one is around). The "new" appliances they put in are cheap. The dishwasher didn't work well and I would have to end up handwashing dishes more often than not. One of my "new" A/C's stopped working and needed to be replaced and one of the maintenance people told me it was common with the new units they purchased. On top of all that, when my lease was up for Renewal they wanted to increase the rent by $250-$350 a month AND charge a "garbage and sewer" fee that was an additional $40 on average a month. When asked why it was so high they just responded with "because its market value". 5 years ago these apartments were $800, now the price is doubled. I know people that had been living in that complex for years that had to move because of the ridiculous price gouging . . and for what? They didn't add or improve anything. They also have the audacity to spam you with emails asking for donations to charities so they can write it off on their taxes. I'm also pretty sure there are rats in the walls. Be smart, stay away from this profit hungry awful property management company.
