Worst management. Towed a car illegally and then refused to pay for it.

Requested a tour on Zillow. Arrived at 9am at the stated address… no one on site. Called after 10 minutes and was told someone would be here by 9:30. Nobody came. Disappointing 30 minute drive for nothing.

I’ve noticed all the bad reviews are old reviews are bad reviews. I’ve lived here 3 months and I have nothing negative to say. Kunal is very responsive and helpful, the building is always being cleaned and maintained. I’m only disappointed about lack of roof access but I’m assuming it’s just covid related concerns.

I am living at the Flats and really like the place! Even tho the Management Office is offsite, they are very quick to answer emails. The studio apartment I live in is the perfect size for a single person. REALLY nicely remolded bathroom and nice clean appliances in the kitchen. This little studio has more storage space than my last place - which was a duplex! Ample closet (7 ft) with a 6' set of storage shelves also in the bathroom area. A nice size 5' x 5' pantry with closing door at the end of the kitchen. It has been snowy for a month, but the place is so well insulated, I have not even had to use my heater. 4 stars out of 5 because it can get a little noisy living next to the entrance and stairway. So far, so good :)

I lived at the flats for a year and here are my pros and cons for the building:
Cons:
Management: When I initially applied and moved-in the lack of communication was ridiculous. Trying to get a hold of anyone was nearly impossible. When I finally moved in, no one in the office would ever answer my calls, and it got to the point where I think they were intentionally ignoring me. The office is offsite, so when I finally had a chance to stop by the office to put in a work-order, it never followed through. Also, the work order was for the water; the water heater doesn't have a scald guard on it, so the minute you put any sort of hot water on it is searing hot!
Noise: The walls are paper thin and about 50% of the residents own dogs who bark all night long. People are consonantly out in the hallway having full on conversations and you can hear every single word. I lived near the roof top deck, and there was no set hours for it so people were up there at 1am stomping around, and at one point there was so much commotion that it shook the pictures off my wall. Maintenance even started shoveling snow at 6am and I heard every last bit of it. I also can't get over how many times the police showed up.
Apartment amenities: Paying for laundry there was just a joke. There are only 3 washers and with the amount of people there are, getting a machine was near impossible. Also, they claim that its under surveillance, but there is no camera so technically having a sign up that says that is illegal. To add on to amenities, there is absolutely nothing else that comes with this apartment complex, except for a small parking log.
Location: Trying to get any type of cell phone signal is damn near impossible out there. It's a complete dead zone. They have also started building a housing complex across the street which just brought a large amount of construction that caused the streets to be blocked, entrance to be blocked and water to be shut off multiple times. The neighborhood is also not the best one either, a lot of crime occurs and homeless hang out.
Pros:
Deposit Return: They did not nickle and dime me for any turn procedures. I was charged a cleaning fee and the remainder of my deposit was returned to me the day after I moved out. That is very uncommon for most apartment complexes.
Apartment Interior: The actual interior of the apartments were nice. The bathrooms were just re-done and the kitchens had good appliances. The balconies were huge, as well. However, very limited counter space.
Neighbors: Everyone that I ever met here, was very nice and accommodating. I was moving out and a gentleman offered to help take some of my heavy trash items to the dumpster for me. I got locked out once, and another neighbor stayed and waited with me while the lock smith came.
Overall: I think there are much better places to get a nicer apartment, location and community for a similar price. I moved a little closer to Boulder and I found a way better apartment for just a little extra a month. However, if you are just looking for a place to stay for a year just to save a little money before upgrading, this place might work for you.
