Edit: It has been 3 weeks since this review was posted, and I have still not received my refund check. The only response I’ve gotten is that they are reaching out to the accounting department.
I lived in this apartment complex for a year, and while the day-to-day experience was mostly fine, the issues I’ve faced after moving out have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
It has now been nearly three months since I moved out, and I still have not received my refund. I’ve had to be the one to reach out every single time, and several of my emails and calls asking for updates have been ignored. I was told a check was mailed five weeks ago, but it never arrived. When I reached out about this last week, I was met with a complete lack of empathy. I understand the current staff weren’t managing the property when I moved out, but being met with some compassion or urgency would have gone a long way. I even offered to pick up the check in person, yet I still had to follow up again—because no one contacted me with an update. As of today, nothing has been resolved.
During my year there, several issues were ongoing: the parking stackers constantly broke down; the pool and hot tub were often closed for repairs without any notice; the area is generally safe, but you do have to be cautious around the homeless groups living under the RTD; and there is absolutely no guest parking. The office is quick to threaten towing, and the staff and management companies seem to change constantly.
Unfortunately, the lack of communication and accountability—especially during the move-out process—has left a very negative final impression. I would not recommend living here based on my experience

I moved into Railside without seeing it in person, but the website made it look like a nice luxury apartment right next to the Lakewood Wadsworth RTD station. In some ways it was, but living there came with quite a few surprises.
The good stuff:
The location is great and just a short walk to the Wadsworth station. My apartment, a top-floor two-bedroom two-bath, was spacious with lots of natural light and really nice finishes. It had stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and soft-close cabinets. I actually loved the layout and the views from my unit.
The not-so-great:
Moving in was awkward since the entrance is right off Wadsworth, which is a busy road, and there isn’t an easy place to park a U-haul temporarily. People constantly parked in the no-parking areas around the building, and when it snowed, it turned into chaos.
There are only two elevators and both are at one end of the building. My apartment was on the opposite end, so carrying groceries or furniture meant a long walk. My movers even charged extra because of the distance.
Parking was another frustration. My assigned surface spot was between a wall and another car, so I couldn’t open the passenger side of my truck. I asked for a different spot but never heard back. During my time there, part of the drop ceiling in the garage collapsed even though the building was new, and there were random leaks throughout the garage, including one right over my vehicle. The staff did help me find a temporary spot, but parking was always tight and guests didn’t really have anywhere to park. If you have two cars, one of them will likely end up in the RTD lot (which might charge), the street a block to the south or in one of the areas where parking isn’t technically allowed.
When I first moved in, we couldn’t get mail for almost two months because the mailbox locks hadn’t been ordered yet. Keep in mind, I wasn't the first resident so I don't know how long it was truly. We had to drive to the post office near Sloan’s Lake to pick up our mail. Deliveries were also tricky because the building locks after 6 PM and the Butterfly entry system didn't work for the first 9-10 months of my stay. Delivery drivers, guests, or pet sitters often couldn’t get in unless someone happened to walk by and open the door for them.
Most of my maintenance issues were addressed relatively quickly, but one issue was that a crack had developed over one of the doorways. Maintenance came and took a look, but after that, no one else really came to look at it (they had stated the builder would come since it was a new build, but that never happened).
Toward the end of my lease, I asked to extend it by just one month. The lease said I would pay the current market rate plus a $150 short-term fee, which I was fine with. However, management told me that the market rate was different because I only wanted a one-month extension, something wasn't really mentioned in the lease as far as I can tell. With that change and the fee, it came out about $450 higher than expected, so I decided to just move out instead.
Overall, the apartment itself was really nice and the staff were friendly (edit: I just found out the staff I were talking about are no longer there so YMMV), but the parking situation, building issues, and the delivery/access problems made the experience more stressful than I was hoping for.
Edit: Funny thing happened after submitting my review: Someone tried to hack my Google account. Probably a coincidence...
Edit 2: I sent an e-mail immediately after seeing their message and as of December 1st, 25 days later, I still haven't heard back. New management? Are we sure? Kinda funny that multiple 5-star reviews showed up around the same time after I left my review.
