Love my apartment. People are very friendly. Here's my issue. I have two dogs. The entire property has been covered in dog feces. I have asked on multiple occasions for someone to clean the dog park and complained about the absence of dog bags. I ALWAYS clean up after my dogs. Recently management sent out an email telling residents they will be fined and evicted if they do not pick up after their dogs. I am fine with that. My issue is I was just fined $200 dollars for not picking up after my dogs. Which is a Lie!! So what now? Let them steal $200 from me for lying, no evidence, based on just an accusation by some faceless person? I am livid. I get that this has been an issue and am glad it's being addressed but just finning people because you see them outside is absolutely disgusting.

Still paying on breaking a lease from DC in 2022. They charged HIGH prices for everything I ever touched in the apartment to be repaired. I lived there for just over a year. While there, maintenance entered my home unannounced and without my knowledge. The tub's coating constantly peeled off and the drawers were so cheaply made they often came off the tracks. In the summer my water bill spiked up to 35$ as a single women, which Jen informed me was due to the pool and its maintenance. Beware and choose wisely before signing a lease here!

Paper-thin noise • low ceilings • rent hike • old appliances • surprise entries I’ve lived here long enough to say it isn’t worth the price. Noise: You hear everything from upstairs and even people on the exterior stairs. Zero sound insulation. Ceilings (I’m 6’2”): •Tallest spot: 94” (only 20” above my head) •Bathroom: 82” (8” clearance) •Standing in tub: 80” (6” clearance) •Shower head: 74” — at my height Appliances: Old, noisy, and dated for the price point. Surprise entries: Maintenance and staff have entered without notice multiple times. “Reasonable time” isn’t a blank check—non-emergency entries should be scheduled in advance and at reasonable hours. Rent increase: Jumping my rent from $1,485 to $1,670 despite 29 units showing available (with 4 listed at $1,350) makes the value even worse. Bottom line: Thin walls, short ceilings, tired appliances, unprofessional entries, and a steep hike despite vacancies. I wouldn’t recommend this complex to even my worse enemies.

I am editing the review because you cannot reply to the person replying to your comment. Dryer is messed up and told them, the reply was "it is a new machine" that's it. Half the electric is out in the apartment so I called them and left a message because nobody answers the phone, never returned my message. Had an issue and the lady at the office was not nice and said "it's in the lease" and rudely turned her back on me and walked away like I was trash. She lucky she didn't get cussed out right there. This is how they act? Isn't the washing machine and electrical "in the lease"? These people just do not care about you and I stand by that statement. They do not want you to live here, avoid at all costs. Management are terrible people that do not care about you. I have been here 3 months and it's already that bad. Apartment is below average at best

Worst experience ever. They charge an arm and a leg for a small apartment that has HORRIBLE insulation. I could hear everything from my upstairs neighbors having intimate times, to peeing in the toilet, yes I can hear the pee hitting the water in the toilet to their tiny chihuahua running around all night long. Shortly after moving in our water heater line busted, spraying piping hot water everywhere. It took maintenance about two hours to respond. They replaced the pipe but did not repair or clean up from the water damage. Shortly after that we had a huge leak in the master bedroom from the third floor apartment. This took them a week to respond to and once responded , I was not notified that someone would be entering my unit nor that the problem was "fixed". The drywall and flooring was not replaced after this resulting in mold in my unit. Sarah was absolutely the worst property manager, she never wanted to do anything that inconvenienced her. I will say Mimi and I think John were also amazing and tried to help to the best of their abilities. Deer Crest only cares about the money. Do not fall into the trap of the beautiful online photos or the model unit. The actual units are horrible and not worth the high price. Not to mention they just paint over the old paint on the walls AND PAINT THE BATHTUB. Every time we took a shower or bath the paint would peel off. No one ever came to fix it. Once we peeled off the paint, there was rust and other unknown colorations on the tub. Will never refer anyone else to them.
