Filthy & A Health Hazard
lived here for over a year
Moved in 1st floor bldg 7 by a main door that broke, the wall we share would bang every time someone even attempted to open the door, it was a MAIN door (I heard what I believed to be head maintenance– call the broken doors being r*ped, which as a survivor, you feel less safe if the ppl running the place think SA is like a broken door). It made the living room constantly sound like a warzone. Kinda was with the loose screw construction left that stabbed us. No noise insulation, you can hear your upstairs neighbor flush, you can feel your downstairs neighbor's dog bark & walls shake when they open/close a door.
Upstairs neighbors were loud, but I didn't think it was security worthy, the front office said call security next time– so I did. Neighbor retaliated directly, throwing lighters & matches (during red flag warning) & other trash on our balcony. Unit transfer offered, we were told it should be the same price & as us & our pets safety felt at risk we took it– only to have to pay over 200 more & only having 2DAYS to transfer once we got keys, in a new bdg with no elevator. Unit was poorly made too. The floors sagged & rattled (they had cut corners to make this place & sometimes require construction on all units). We were punished for wanting to be safe to the point it put us in financial struggle.
Bdg 6, 1st floor smelled of animal waste- I vomited just trying to get to the stairs. Trash in stairs too. The worst? Rotten food, months old, reported it repeatedly & was told cleaners come. I had to pick up my dog to keep him from getting sick from eating old rotten food that was melting into the carpet. Cleaners didn't show, after months of reporting, or they did & never cleaned the rotting waste, only came once a month due to Claro not meeting occupancy quota (what?) The only way I got them to clean up was threatening to call the HOUSING INSPECTORS. To which they blamed me for “not telling them there was food”, which I did lol. No accountability at all.
Ceiling, window seal, vent, & patio door all leaked during a storm. Scott blamed us for the window, & claimed everything was fixed by undoing a clog on the roof, finally putting the weather seal on the door that this apt we pay nearly 3k for apparently didn't put on before moving in (how many times did this vacant unit flood before we came?) A few weeks later– everything leaks again, the vents– the walls were weeping water & the window (Window installed wrong & wow! Not actually our fault, thx Scott), 2x2 hole was cut in our ceiling & we couldn't use one of the rooms in the 2bed for a whole month, no cut in our rent to compensate we paid full price for ½ the apt, with a threat of mold.
Allowed drifting on the property, when reported with timestamp they refused to do anything, this happened multiple times. Kids live there, they are actively endangering them by refusing to take action. Note, lot has smashed cars everywhere, either by hit & run or by theft.
Dog park area always smells like urine & feces, most tenants don’t pick up after themselves in it.
Office hates you once you move in, they glared at me when I walked in, god forbid you have an issue when someone wants a tour– which makes the office shutdown apparently.
Did not make ADA on sidewalks, which shows how little they actually care about tenants. Had to completely redo it, maybe don’t cheap out the first time?
Amenities, property grounds, & bdgs overall filthy, when I left they only had cleaners come once a month bc of “occupancy quotas”, which is sketchy in its own right. So yeah, If you value your health & safety as well as your loved ones, don't live here. Just be grateful if the faux brick doesn't hit you in the head on a windy day.
Cardinal had Mint Urban be the most complained about apt in Denver, it seems like they are trying to achieve something similar with Claro in Aurora. There are plenty of better, properly built, apartments in the area. Go there.
So much more to say, but review length was maxed :(
