I would strongly caution anyone considering renting with Jones & Jones Communities.
When my lease ended at their Casa Linda location in Newbury I tried to transfer to the Meadows due to an unsatisfactory experience at the other property. After wasting my time completing a tour and being advised to submit an application, a staff member later told me directly to my face that because I had complained about Casa Linda, they wouldn't approve me for the Meadows. That is retaliation and a Fair Housing violation considering my income, past rental history, and credit score were satisfactory enough and nothing would have disqualified me for the Meadows other than the retaliation on their end. Was always ahead of time on rent, never a disruption, never violated my lease. Take a look at the Yelp reviews for that property (lucky for them they only recently opened the Google reviews so they’re not nearly as telling) and ask yourself if you wouldn't speak up having to live in those conditions.
My issues at their other property included roaches, trash scattered everywhere, and a faulty deadlock that locked me out twice (both of which times I had to foot the bill for a locksmith despite later being told it was a faulty deadbolt, so it should have been their responsibility for the bills). My oven was improperly installed at move-in, causing a gas leak that went undetected for over five months until I discovered it myself while cleaning and had to get SoCal out who called whoever installed it incompetent and a safety risk for the entire property. The property manager Elena also regularly let her dog use the concrete patio below my unit as a bathroom and left it for days, I couldn't even open my windows. It was only cleaned once I made a bad review. They put me in a parking spot that was constantly blocked by the garbage truck who was too lazy to pull forward to the bins and would rather drag them to the end of the gate where my spot was, eventually as I was backing out while the driver clearly saw me doing so, they dumped the entire metal container on the back of my car with my son in the back seat completely scratching my rear end and busting a taillight, couldn’t file a claim since “it was private property” so my word against the trash companies and of course Casa Linda / Jones & Jones was no help, total nightmare.
The same staff that works at Casa Linda also works at the Meadows. This management is a nightmare. They penalize you for advocating for yourself, don't know basic housing laws, and you couldn't pay me to deal with their nonsense again. Rent elsewhere.

I wasn't going to write a review until we left this awful living space, but I can't bite my tongue anymore. I was going to post this on yelp too, but I've been blocked from their page. (photo attached) This review will be in 2 parts because there's so much to say.
We have lived in the same apartment going on 3 years now. We have had NON-STOP issues with little to no help from the front office staff. Irina Rudd in particular is awful to deal with. She is rude, yells at residents, talks over them and doesn't answer questions directly. She is the shadiest of the team there, which is really saying something because ALL of the front staff if not reliable.
The biggest issue we've had in the 3 years is the plumbing, which is just awful. When I was 9 months pregnant, we had literal FECES and URINE and other sewage coming up through the drains in our showers and baths. We would be woken up to the smell of raw sewage in our apartment. Up until the day before I left the hospital to give birth, we were dealing with this. We filed several maintenance requests but the front office only directed the maintenance team to put band-aid solutions in place instead of ACTUALLY fixing the issue. Front office repeatedly told us they had "addressed" the issue, but clearly not because we continued to have the same issue over and over again. I came home from giving birth and shortly after, we had the same issue. Again, literally FECES and URINE coming through the drains, throwing that disgusting smells and bacteria into my apartment with a newborn. We sent a total of 8 maintenance requests for this issue alone.
We also had a leak in our bathroom ceiling that we reported right away. The ceiling over the shower was bubbling and leaking. We filed an emergency maintenance request. It was determined they had to cut a hole in the ceiling to fix the leak. They put a dehumidifier in our bathroom and ran it 24/7 for almost a week. I requested a specific inspection for mold because we had found mold behind our toilet (that they never addressed. They literally painted over the mold and say "good to go!"). Our power bill went up due to the dehumidifier running so we requested a one time rent concession or break. Elena Torres, the community manager, told us they wouldn't be doing anything for us an to contact our renters insurance (that we have through them) for personal expense reimbursement.

Management has been really nice and I enjoy the area but there has been a few break ins in a couple of storage units I’ve seen and also wish they had security or even put cameras around to catch the people I know it could be worse but as a resident Im demanding something be done about this !

I have lived at this property for about a year and my experience has been very positive. The entire staff has been so kind, welcoming, helpful, and responsive. The leasing agents, Irina and Kassra, know every resident by name and greet us as if we're old friends, making it feel like a tight knit community. The Community Manager Elena works tirelessly to ensure the community is taken care of. She listens to our concerns, frustrations, and anything else we want to talk to her about and does her best to address any of the concerns or issues to the best of her ability. She treats everyone with kindness and respect. The maintenance team is out of this world. Danny, Epilido, and Dominic go above and beyond to ensure the maintenance needs to the residents and community are met, to the best of their ability. They are kind, respectful, and helpful.
