  I moved out of Unit 602 at 888 4th Street Apartments on November 22, 2025 and have still not received my security deposit or an itemized statement. California Civil Code §1950.5 requires landlords to return deposits or provide an accounting within 21 days. That deadline passed months ago. Repeated delays and lack of compliance are disappointing and unprofessional. Renters should be aware of this issue before leasing here.

  The new (6 months old) management team is not resident-friendly. They have their "Will return" or "In a meeting" sign on half the time. When they are there, while polite, they offer only lip-service for requests like, "please clean the hallway carpets they are badly soiled." The one team member cannot do anything but pass requests along, saying, "I'll have to ask the manager." I also echo the other posters comments.   I have been living here at 888 Apartments for almost two years and it's been terrible. The staff doesn't know what there doing inside the leasing office. Good luck getting a response. They constantly going through management which is tiresome. The last property manager was on top of it and now I can't get through to the leasing office. The current maintenance supervisor (FR) is nice but doesn't know what he is doing. I've had the same issue with my toilet constantly running and he has came by my apartment four times to repair the same issue in the spand of two weeks and among other things. When I first moved here we were promise a hot tub on the rooftop and that didn't happen. This place is going down hill. I don't recommend living here at all. The leasing agent will smile in your face but she is clueless.

  Do not move to this place! They gonna keep all your deposit. It’s been 21 days since my move out and I found out in my resident portal they’re trying to deduct $200 as a “light cleaning”. I left my apartment extremely clean. Antonette also before I moved out was trying to convince me to hire a “house cleaning company” and gave a business card of a company that she suggested me to hire. I don’t know if she gets any compensation for that but I made sure that my apartment was spotless and clean. I’ve been trying to talk to the office but clearly there’s no manager at the time; the position is vacant. I want my deposit back and I’m not willing to give up on it.

  I moved into 888 4th street in March '25 when Greystar was managing it. I would not have said that previous management was doing a bad job at all but it was with the change in management that drove me to write a review. I was quite shocked to see some of the bad reviews posted for the new management because my experience with them has been fantastic! There were a whole lot of empty units before the change in management but since Antonette and her team have taken over in the office, a flurry of new residents have been filling up the vacant units. They have been working very hard to fill those in and to maintain the building standards. The only difference is a much more diverse population moving in, that's a good thing in my book. I have not seen any drop in the cleanliness standards of the building​ at all. I notice people are utilizing amenities like the pool table and lobby more and the new staff have made a concerted effort to bring a welcoming, friendly vibe overall. I had no problems getting my AC looked at when I needed it and they had a technician out to fix it the very next day, when I inquired. They have hosted community events to invite neighbors to meet and mingle. The building could use more sound proofing like most apartment buildings but they really enforce quiet hours starting at ten pm. Overall, I think the new management is doing a fantastic job here and I have zero complaints.
