Stopped in for some info as I’m looking to move and the staff were very helpful and informative. The quality of construction seems very good and the grounds are just as beautiful as the staff. :)

My lease is up soon, and I wanted to explore my options. These apartments are brand new, spacious, and beautifully designed. The three units I toured were impressive, and I can definitely see myself enjoying all the amenities here. The staff in the office were super helpful, welcoming, and knowledgeable — they answered all my questions and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Cassandra, the manager, even came out to introduce herself and offered refreshments, which made me feel even more welcomed she offered me a can of coke which is my favorite.I can truly see this place becoming home in the next few months!

I'm considering the SCV right now and came to check out this nice apartment complex that has a perfect view of this valley. I was greeted by Lucy, she offered the coffee and cookies they have, very welcoming and accommodating. Asked to see some units, they're sizable, high ceilings. Huge window views of the mountains, what else could I ask for? I do plan on or highly consider moving in soon.

I contacted the housing office to inquire about affordable housing options, which they do offer. However, I was disappointed by the manner in which my inquiry was handled. The representative was unable to provide answers to my questions, suggest alternative solutions, or even invite me to view their available apartments at full price, which I might be able to afford. I was simply seeking information. Subsequently, her tone changed noticeably, and I felt compelled to end the call quickly. If this is indicative of the staff’s manner of communication over the phone, I am concerned about the living conditions within the community.

The Overlook - A disorganized fiasco. *Long post* The good: a brand new construction apartment community in SCV. Everything else: After a 70 mile drive from Orange County, I arrived at the Overlook for my 12 noon tour. I met with an individual named Angela in the Overlook leasing office and we went for a brief tour of the property. We looked at a couple of vacant apartments, the pool, and the gym. I'm not sure if it's the company who owns the Overlook - Shapell Properties, or the Overlook management team, but my experience was the leasing staff there was very mid and underwhelming at best, no smiles, no welcome greeting, and nothing was offered -no water, coffee, definitely not a welcoming environment for a potential new resident. This individual made me feel underappreciated and undervalued as a potential new resident. This person was obviously not trained properly by their lack of professionalism they showed that day, and in all likelihood doesn't really comprehend what good service is all about. I also never received the essential information I needed while I was at the property or by email with a cost breakdown for the actual unit we toured, unit number, parking fees, or any other additional costs I would be responsible for. And even after all of that, and touring 3 other very nice properties that day which all provided amazing service, I still liked The Overlook property the best. When I called the leasing office directly the following day (Thursday) to get the actual unit number to apply to for that specific apartment online, it went right to their central leasing office, and they informed me someone would call me back from the Overlook within two hours...of course that never happened. In fact, after leaving several VMs, I wasn't able to speak with someone at their leasing office (Lucy) until Friday, after 5pm - 2.5 days after my initial tour. She informed me Angela was off for four days and the unit I liked and wanted to apply to wasn't even available on their website yet for me to apply. So with all the confusion, incompetence, lack of onsite staff, and really not wanting to put my trust and money in their incapable hands (40k for a 12 month lease) I decided it would definitely be in my best interest not to move to the Overlook.
