it was a very detailed tour of the property. I worked with Izzy Hernandez, who was absolutely detailed oriented about every single thing I was pleased as far as what I saw the facility is clean accessible and centrally located. I plan on moving in there in a few months.

I absolutely love it here at Veranda Apartments in La Jolla! From start to finish, the entire experience has been amazing. Samantha and her team;Saul, Ryan, and Izzy, have been wonderful throughout the whole process. They are professional, friendly, and always go above and beyond to make everything smooth and stress-free.
The community is beautiful, well-maintained, and truly feels like home. Highly recommend Veranda to anyone looking for a great place
Super frustrating experience.
They barely answer calls, Ryan gave me wrong info during the tour, then called it a “miscommunication.” The biggest issue came right before signing. The prorated rent for March didn’t add up, so I asked about it. I was told it was “calculated by our lease generator, and is accurate” After I pushed back, I was then told “ There actually was an incorrection on the move-in funds (prorated rent for March)”.
At that point, it just felt like I wasn’t getting straight answers. Between the poor communication and inconsistent information, I didn’t feel comfortable moving forward and ended up withdrawing my application. I’d definitely recommend staying far away from Veranda.
Edit 2:
The doors, in fact, do not function as they should. The bandaid repairs last a few days; the butterfly feature of remote unlocking has not functioned for months. Any tour or test of the doors in question would prove that - but management will never venture outside of their chairs to see the very community for which they are responsible. The false "we care" and "its fixed" responses dont reflect the actual conditions tenants face every day. And now we are being charged to park, are no longer assigned parking (its a free-for-all), have to use another questionable app to park at all, and are limited to the number of guests we have each month (4) before having to pay more for guest/visitor parking.
The trash cans (which are also a mandatory monthly fee with another app) still line the halls every day, all day; some with trash spilling into the halls.
And as of recent, I've had to express my concerns over management displaying tenants' full names and addresses (PII) in the common areas, unobstructed and in plain sight for any guest, resident, delivery person, etc. to see.
This place is an embarrassment.
Edit 1:
After rejected attempts to speak with Sam, the manager, it took poor reviews and multiple repair requests to get a cut-and-paste response... not en email. Not a letter or posting on site to state any effort is being made - just a review response with no substance or tangible action.
The security concerns surrounding the door remain unresolved. Additionally, over the entirety of this past weekend, the elevator accessed by said broken door was not functional which forced residents and guests to transit to the far side of the building with their groceries, belongings, etc. Several other "secure" doors in the dark and unmonitored parking garage remain nonfunctional and accessible by all - including nonresidents.
Adding to the dismay: after forcing residents to pay a monthly fee for a trash service (see photo of a typical hallway that hasn't changed since the vendor was contracted), residents have recently been informed that the already miserable parking arrangement will now be a "free for all" at the cost of yet another fee (and yet another app to download) added to your rent payment.
Problem with anything? "Contact the vendor". Management may offer a faux smile and scripted responses, but that's as much energy as you'll receive. The proof is in the repetitive responses to every bad review you see about this place.
*******
Management would rather put "band aids" on issues and declare them fixed rather than resolve issues. After repeated complaints about the failing and hazardous doors and security issues around the garage access door that SHOULD be operated by the remote app, BUTTERFLY, ive been told once again that the issue has been resolved (post crushing my hand while holding the door for another resident): the door is not fixed. The door does not operate as it should - after MONTHS. THIS PROPERTY IS TERRIBLE AT ENSURING QUALITY, IS TERRIBLE WITH COMMUNICATION, and will cut every corner possible to save a dollar while making residents' lives equally unpleasant.

I’ve lived there for a few years ago and recently moved out a couple months ago and I did not have too many problems for the most part
