- MAMolly AndersonJul 4, 20215.0Recently relocated my 86 year old mom from Florida to an apartment in Mistywood. This place is beyond PERFECT for her. She left behind a home, yard, car, and all the maintenance that goes along with it! She is in a one bedroom apartment with 3 meals a day, housekeeping, transportation and feels safe and secure. It is true that some of the furnishings are a bit dated; HOWEVER, what we felt was the most important was that she be happy, well fed, and cared about. The staff at Mistywood is AMAZING. Julie and Sylvia spent time with my husband and I as we carefully selected the unit and understood the facility before brining mom across country to live. From the minute we arrived from the airport and Julie met us with hot meals, a big smile and welcoming hug for my mother I knew we were in the right place! The pricing, compared to surrounding facilities, is more than fair. Also, when considering what mom was able to let go of -- home owners insurance, auto insurance, Xfinity bill, utilities, property taxes, housekeeper, home maintenance (lawn service, pest control, etc. etc.) and the peace of mind she gained, this is an ideal situation for mom. Oh, and there's even a beauty shop with a delightful stylist that took her time to cut and style mom's hair and give her a pedicure. The chef is amazing and mom has been raving about the delicious meals she is getting. Each meal consists of 3 great choices. There are also activities that keep residents socializing and smiling! In just one week mom looks better than she has in years. I attribute this to the great staff at Mistywood that are making her feel at home. Couldn't be happier!
