To the inevitable robotic response by management, don’t bother because I am not interested.
Our experience here was ehh, while the area itself is great, the complex itself excluding a few of the staff members leaves a lot to be desired.
When moving In we chose an apartment with the “view” on the bottom floor, the view got old but the bug problem got annoying. Summer time and right around rainy season we would kill bugs DAILY and yes that is bugS, with an S, PLURAL, DAILY! We submitted requests for the bug guy to come out to management about twice and granted the bug guy did come out but both times he said even though our unit was clean and well kept the problem was simply because we were on ground level and we were facing the nature preserve down below.. so in sense we just had to deal with it because both times they came out we noticed no difference at all in the bug problem.. cockroaches, spiders and other weird house bugs I couldn’t even name. We are fairly clean people and maintain our home, if you are less than so I can only image what kind of problem you’d have..
The “roof” over my parking spot leaked so my car would get these weird large dots of watermarks all over it making me want to just park out in the rain because the spots would be much less noticeable. Our neighbor said management was aware and just chose to ignore the problem, granted we didn’t tell them anything ourselves, but I had no reason to doubt what the neighbor had told us because we both basically felt the same way about the place.
The way their trash cans are setup here is also bizarre.. every morning walking to the car and every night walking the dog you walk past a smelly trash can because they are placed right alongside the walking paths to the cars / around the complex and are almost always full? I can only imagine being the units super close to them and wanting to crack a window.
Something else I thought was weird was upon move in ( of course after the docs had been signed ) we were told not to turn down the AC past 73 because the pipes would freeze? I’ve lived in many places throughout my life and this is genuinely the first time I’m hearing about this… maybe in a random hotel just left of middle of nowhere? But apartments in Rocklin charging what these crooks charge I should be able to set my AC to whatever I damn please?
Lastly, if you are still on the fence about this place.. move in and deal with the property manager Jodie. I’m convinced the day heart, human decency, and basic manners were given out she was absent probably studying all possible definitions of the word “rude” Don’t believe me? Move in. You will remember this review.

Place is unprofessional, and upon inspection when I first moved in, i noticed that they put the wrong size stove rings on the electric stove which were uneven so cooking was a pain. The sink drain was broken. The blinds in my room were worn and not working properly. The "tile" or i should say plastic tile in the kitchen stained easily and absorbed stuck food and dirt. The outside porch floorboards were a atrocious. Completely jagged and uneven (not to mention dangerous as nail heads stuck out because they weren't even nailed in all the way.) The tub in the bathroom was obnoxious because it squeaked super loud everywhere you stepped. I mentioned it to them and they just said "oh everyone's does that." I couldnt take it anymore and placed a work order, they tried to fix it but didn't. The air conditioner was broken and over-running, which costed us extra for pg and e. And last but not least the cheap dryer and washer just about ruined our clothes.
And they want 2,000 a month for a 1 bedroom? Screw that.
When we moved out, we cleaned the apartment super well, and they sent us pictures of normal wear and tear claiming it "damage."
How about putting the correct rings on the stove? or nailing in the floorboards correctly? or correctly installing a tub? Or buying good washers and dryers?
These people are scammers. They scam the residents and take all the money they can get. They could care less about the residents, only the shareholders. Do not rent here if you can help it.

beautiful apartment, polite staff, picturesque area, cleanliness, timely service, but we encountered a very unpleasant situation.
The administration announced a referral program, "bring a friend who will check into the apartment and get $ 100" but it turned out to be a scam, I advised my friends to stay at the Sunset Summit apartments, they moved from another city, lived with me for a week, waited for the paperwork. My daughter constantly went with them to the office and helped them with the translation, since they do not know English, Of course, they immediately informed them that we recommended them, but the administrator said that first they need to check in, then you will receive a bonus, after they checked in, my daughter asked if she could get a bonus, but she was told that it was necessary to tell them about it right away, but they were told about it 3 times. It turned out very offensive

This place is a scam, when my partner and I were looking at apartments we came across Sunset Summit apartments. Before asking for a tour they had an option for you to send in your income to see if you qualify, they got back to us saying we qualified and so we applied to one of the available listings they had on their website. We waited about a week and they called to say we are just under what they require residents to make which is 4 times the rent. This expectation is unrealistic as they want you to make $90,000 a year even though with all fees and rent costs would equal $24,000 and maybe some change for a whole year. Honestly with the amount of bad reviews I’m relieved that we likely dodged a bullet by not living at sunset summit.
