We’re incredibly happy to be in our brand-new home built by Pulte, and we absolutely love the layout, location, and potential it offers our family. However, it’s important to recognize that the positive rating we’re giving is largely because of LJ, our outstanding sales consultant, and Ed, our committed customer service manager. Without their professionalism, follow-through, and genuine concern for our experience, our overall rating would have been lower.
That said, we’ve faced a number of avoidable issues since closing that have made our early days in the home more stressful than they should have been. Some of the concerns include:
• A non-operational irrigation system caused by incorrect parts being installed
• Flooring defects that shouldn’t have passed quality checks
• Improperly fitted or damaged window screens
• HVAC plumbing issues, with both the A/C and heater not being plumbed correctly
• Exposed nails and screws, which pose safety and cosmetic concerns
• Sheetrock and plaster craftsmanship issues, including poor taping and finishing
• Fence panels not installed properly or securely
While we understand that new homes require time to settle, the root of most of these issues lies in poor workmanship and subpar materials. Many of the frustrations we’ve dealt with could have been avoided if Pulte’s subcontractors had taken more pride in their work and approached the build with a “what if this were my home?” mentality.
Ed has been the saving grace in this process. He listened, responded quickly, and made sure our concerns were addressed. His efforts have helped turn a bumpy experience into something manageable and have shown us what good customer service can really look like.
We love our home — we just wish the path to move-in had been smoother.
