Had a great experience with Charles during the leasing process. He was always available and very helpful.

During the tour I tested the gas stove with permission and mentioned that one of the burners didn’t seem to be working. As I was explaining this, the leasing agent interrupted me and shouted, saying, “Are we done?” He repeated this in increasing volume each time I tried to finish my sentence about the burner. After I stopped talking, he asked why I was “so picky.” I explained that I had previously dealt with a cockroach issue at another building and was just trying to be careful. He responded, “I deal with them all the time. Better than bedbugs.” Then added "Not at this building". If you tour, check out the package room first. A resident came to complain about it as I was waiting and it was messy

Package lockers arent utilized leaving boxes open to theft and misplacement. Also the package room is constantly overwhelmed with 100s of boxes and people will smash your packages.

Don’t even consider living in this apartment. 1. The leasing office is completely unresponsive. When I announced my last month, my rent increased by $2000. I visited them four times, requesting a detailed breakdown of the cost, but they never responded. The leasing office is empty. I recall one day when I raised an issue about the trash valet. The leasing person told me to deal with it and asked why I was making a fuss. 2. The trash valet is the worst experience ever. They don’t pick up the trash on time, but they also penalize you. They leave you notes, and if you leave your trashcan outside, they’ll retaliate. 3. The mailroom is the worst. I’ve lost over $1000 in the mail room because no one organizes it. When I went to the office, they said it was complicated, but that only shows incompetence. If they were competent, they would put up a few shelves and label them for different floors. The mail people would then put the boxes in the shelves, but these people are extremely incompetent and don’t care about you. 4. The gym equipment is very old and noisy. The treadmills make extreme noise and hurts your knees. They don’t plan to renovate the gym equipment, and there’s limited equipment, so you can’t do any workouts.

Hated paying to live at the apt, but the location was perfect. It was extremely expensive for what it’s worth (including location), there are much cheaper apts in the surrounding area. The studio I lived in would’ve been personally worth it if it was at least $200-$300 cheaper a month and the utilities weren’t ridiculous. I was paying $3100/month with base rent and apt utilities. That does not include PGE, wifi, etc. I very rarely had the Nest off of ECO mode. I was being charged at least $150/month for a studio apt. For reference, I’m now paying $50/month in a 1bd/1bath. People are constantly moving in/out of the apt daily (which personally I should’ve seen that as a “tell” that this isn’t a great place to live). There are many empty apts so if there’s not an apt you want rn in their system, I’m sure one will pop up extremely quickly, so wait for the cheapest option. They make you pay for a trash valet system that can reject your trash/recycling - I lived by the trash chute so I never used it anyway after I learned of the rules. I wish there was an option to opt out of that service. Also, idk if this is typical but I’ve never been charged this, they split your water fee into “hot water” and “cold water”. So you’re charged more on your water bill bc you have to pay for both of them. I’ve personally never had to pay for water that way in the Bay Area (or other US regions for that matter). Not the greatest walking area for dogs. There’s very little green space and if your dogs are reactive on leashes, it’s a lot of tight sidewalks with lots of dog owners walking around. Theres one dog park a couple blocks away that was great! Still no green space. Also The Yard is a mostly outdoor coffee shop that you can bring your dogs to that my dogs loved :) The location was great, however, the only reason I moved here so quickly was because I had to move out of my last apt ASAP for personal reasons and I have 2 dogs under my care. It was the first apt in Redwood City that I came across that could take my dogs in an area I felt safe. While I was in an urgent mindset, I truly regret living there and wish I had a calmer mindset and found a cheaper place in this general location. Again, not worth the price.
