The place is genuinely very nice and the surrounding area is peaceful. I haven’t had issues regarding feeling in danger and don’t ever have noise complaints for the most part. Inside the unit it does look very nice, it definitely is modern looking. The complex as a whole does have lots of issues however. Regarding the unit itself, a lot of things break very frequently which gets very annoying to have to contact for maintenance on a monthly basis at the very least for something. Contacting the office is another issue as placing a phone call would typically leave us unanswered and then resorting to email would also go unanswered. As of recent they’ve been much better at picking up the phone but it’s still an issue that persists. Asking for help is also a bit tedious because whether you walk into the office or manage to contact by phone, some management staff seem to be annoyed immediately and come off as rude. I’ve never had much issue with the maintenance team as most of them have been very polite, however requesting help has been an issue as they often don’t make it to your unit around the time frame they mentioned, making it a bit frustrating for busy people or those with pets that prefer to be present to ensure everything is okay. Management is usually very selective about what rules to enforce. We’ve been notified about a couple of things to ensure we’re complying with their standards which we understandably follow suit. However, we have found it unfair for us to be told what to fix/change while others continue to not uphold the apartment standards. For example, others have occupied parking spaces without moving their car at all for too many consecutive days which we were told is not allowed. Additionally, many units have bikes, storage boxes, and covers adhered to the patio which is not upholding the patio standards and we find it unfair that less action is taken about these instances when residents like us are doing our best to comply with their standards. Before moving in, we were promised renovations for the dog park which never seemed to happen since the water fountain is still very dirty as it’s just filled with leaves and dirty old water. We were promised the game room would be open for as long as the other amenities were but they still close it at the same time as the office and we were promised this over a year ago already.
For the price you pay, it ultimately doesn’t seem worth it, the area and unit are very nice but it seems like you deal with more challenges in the form of rude/unresponsive management, constant maintenance needs, false promises, and selective enforcement of apartment standards.
Personal Story:
We don’t try to start problems with management as we generally tend to only speak to them when we need something. Even when they are rude, we still do our best to communicate with them regarding whatever the situation is to fulfill our needs. We once had a water heater leak that ran up our gas bill. On average we pay about $40 a month for gas but it had reached around $300 one month because our water heater was constantly running due to the leak. Before contacting SoCal Gas, my girlfriend walked into the office to address the issue to possibly have someone take a look at it as it may be something that was happening on their end that maintenance could fix. My girlfriend was rudely told that it isn’t their concern/issue and that we would need to contact SoCal Gas. We contacted them and after they inspected our unit, we were told about the water leak and that maintenance needs to fix the issue. We then contacted the office again and told them what had occurred to which they finally sent maintenance who couldn’t fix our issue until the next day leaving us with cold water for the rest of the night. We were very disappointed that the issue we had addressed was rudely dismissed when the whole time, management could’ve helped us much sooner as it was an issue they needed to solve.
Citrine Hills left me with mixed impressions. The community has a peaceful, resort-like atmosphere surrounded by greenery, and the initial tour felt calm and comfortable. Candice was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, which made the experience positive.
After further research and reviewing resident feedback, I learned that the property is older, and some design aspects may contribute to moisture issues in the bathrooms. When I revisited the unit the following day for a closer inspection, I noticed signs consistent with these concerns, including areas that appeared to have been superficially covered.
Overall, this is an older apartment community. Prospective tenants are advised to carefully inspect bathroom walls for moisture, softness, or potential mold before making a decision.

We went to Citrine Hills because their gorgeous website made the place look like a mountain lake resort. Very informative, full of photos and helpful floorplan graphics... well done website team! Once we got there in person we met the leasing agent dynamic duo of Annabelle and Rayna. Their friendly smiles and infectious personalities won me over immediately. They really know their stuff and were able to answer all of my questions. Annabelle gave us the golf cart star tour and even had little bits of local trivia for some fun. Rayna was an invaluable help with the application process, seeming to already know how to help when quirky application weirdness ensued. Ok, enough of my babbling... here is a little helpful info. This place right now has incredible deals, like a free month rent with move in or multiple hundreds of $$ in discounts! Contact them for details, they are easy to see because of their superhero capes caught by the breeze. Thank you ladies for making what is normally a drudge task feel like we spent the afternoon with friends.

Where do I even start? It’s been about six months since I moved out, and after living at Citrine Hills with my family for five years, I finally feel comfortable and safe enough to share what we went through.
Imagine being woken up by loud knocking, police in vests with guns drawn, telling our next-door neighbors to come outside, only to find out something very serious was happening in that unit. If you have little ones, please check Megan’s Law. A group of us women from several apartments went to the office asking for help, and instead of addressing the safety concerns, we were told we would have to pay to move units if we wanted to feel safe.
That doesn’t even cover the filthy hallways, the gunshots, the transients, and the worst of all, when one of their third-party companies tried to enter my apartment with a key. This happened two weeks before I moved out. They denied everything even though I had video proof, and I have pictures for proof as well. I now see another review with the same experience.
After moving out, I was still charged 300 dollars and never received an itemized bill explaining what the charges were for.
Do not move here. This was the worst experience my family and I had to endure. Stressful, traumatic, and full of sleepless nights. Never again.
Update: with all due respect, you are not deeply concerned. If you had been you would have paid attention to our concerns when we had brought them to you during our tenancy. Honestly your copy paste boiler plate email doesn’t do anything for us. I will keep my review here so that others know how this place really runs.
