I’ve been renting in Ottawa, mostly in Centretown, for about a decade now and have dealt with quite a few different buildings and management companies over the years. I moved into Releve this spring, and it has already been one of the best rental experiences I’ve had. I love my unit, the building is beautiful, consistently clean, and both maintenance and management have been responsive whenever issues come up. There are also clear channels for residents to get support like onsite management, which I’ve really appreciated. Some of the reviews are surprising considering how positive my experience has been here; my expectations are of those of an amazing rental and not homeowner ship.
It’s overpriced for the service. Amenities being down for weeks at a time which are large selling points for a lot of people (VR room still not currently available and no timeline provided for when it will be fixed). Building management are quite condescending and show little compassion. Garbage chutes being out of service for hours at a time. Hot water issues and dirty units when moving in. Receptionist is very nice though!

We had a truly wonderful experience with the Relève building in Ottawa for both my daughter and my son after moving in this April. From the very beginning, the entire team was incredibly welcoming, professional, and accommodating. They genuinely care about their tenants and it never felt like they were only focused on profits.
What stood out the most was their understanding and kindness when my son had to resiliate his lease only one month after moving in because he received a new work opportunity in another city. They handled the situation with compassion and professionalism, without causing any unnecessary stress or complications. He simply paid his month and was able to leave smoothly.
A special thank you as well to Riad Kourifa, our agent, who was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process — attentive, helpful, and always available when we needed assistance.
It is rare nowadays to find a team that combines efficiency with such genuine human care. Highly recommend!
We’ve been here for about six months and our experience has been a little mixed. Overall, the building is in a good location and quite attractive compared to other complexes around. The building is *mostly* cleanly maintained but there have been instances of finding unwashed tables in shared spaces with stains from the previous user. The team are, on the whole, very nice.
Admin seems to be very conflict avoidant. Mostly rules are enforced via signage (a new sign showing up is a fairly clear indication something has happened the day/week before). While it’s nice for them to be hands-off the outcome is that it comes across as passive aggressive and does nothing to deter the bad actors. In the end it’s those in the community who are already doing the right thing who feel it (e.g., residents and the building’s construction team smoke directly next to the complex entrance regardless of how many signs get put up).
The most important thing is how the team presented the building prior to us moving in. Specifically, other complexes were upfront about their amenities being under construction. We factored that into our decision to move to Relevé - why pay for something that won’t exist for half the lease? Unfortunately certain amenities here were also under construction and, in fact, are yet to open even though those other communities have had them for almost a month. Secondly, unlike other building tours we went on, Relevé made no mention of booking fees for amenities. We didn’t discover the prohibitively high booking fees until a separate review pointed it out. While those felt like like poor form but ultimately sales tactics, what inspired me to write this review was that we recently discovered that, prior to signing on, we were only offered one of several identical units which just so happens to be several hundred dollars more than the other identical units. Discovering that we were (deliberately or not) misled into signing on for the most expensive of a series of literally identical units makes it hard not to feel like we were taken advantage of.
Ultimately it’s a perfectly nice place to live but it really pays to ask about and clarify details you might take for granted when going through the touring process.
ACTUALLY HORRIBLE PLACE. DO NOT SIGN.
I wanted to love living at Releve because the building looks nice at first, but my experience has been incredibly disappointing and frustrating.
The rent here is already extremely expensive, and I’ve already received a rent increase.
I was also promised a $750 rent credit for referring my friend to the building. I even have a signed document stating that the $750 was owed to me as of May 1st, yet I still haven’t received it. Management told me there was a “mistake” because I’m on automatic rent withdrawal — which is mandatory to live here in the first place. Instead of correcting the issue immediately, they decided on their own to apply it next month without even asking if that worked for me.
$750 is a lot of money to a lot of people, and the way this was handled showed a complete lack of care or professionalism. If tenants are late on rent, fees are applied immediately, but when management takes extra money from someone’s account due to their own mistake, tenants are apparently expected to just wait another month.
Honestly, I wouldn’t trust the offers they advertise for free rent, referral bonuses, or credits, because even with signed documentation, I still haven’t received what I was promised.
What upset me even more was what happened to my friend. She rented one of the upper-floor units after being promised an unobstructed view, only to later find out there’s a 35-storey building being constructed directly across from her unit — while her building is only 29 storeys. Her entire view will eventually be blocked.
Overall, the communication, transparency, and professionalism here have been really disappointing, especially considering the amount tenants are paying.
Only positive is the Concierge in Tower A, she is lovely and does her best to help everyone.
