I've lived here for a little over 2 years and have never had any major issues that management and on-site maintenance couldn't fix. Michael took care of our leasing agreement and he is fabulous and always refers to me by name!
The apartment complex is pet friendly. Occasionally, I do hear a dog bark probably when they're left home alone as their owners are either at work or out, but not for a long period of time. But for a complex with animals, it's pretty quiet.
Apart from the bbq grill stationed at the poolside for residents to use. Residents can also the have their own grill on their patio/balcony for grilling.
Apart from noise traffic when residents are heading out or returning home, the noise level around my side of the complex tends to be quiet. Now, if there's a game going on, you may hear your neighbors which is expected but nothing that can't be tolerated.
There's are Amazon lockers on the compound that are used for all deliveries and not only restricted for Amazon deliveries which is awesome for packages that fits in the locker. Large bulky items that won't fit in the locker are placed at your door. I've had several packges of all sizes left at my door and haven't had any packages taken from my door steps which says a lot about the residents in the complex because there are several residents who lives towards the front of the complex who passes my door on their way in or out daily.
Maintenance request that I've submitted are usually taken cared of within 24 hours.
One thing I would suggest if it's possible is to place numbers of the apartments in each section (for example Apt. A 1 -10). Although the compound offers the Amazon lockers, there are packages deliveries and food deliveries that arrive after office hours that tends to get lost in the complex which makes it more difficult for them when it's dark and especially on rainy days.
Overall, I would highly recommend Village Pointe.
Lived here for a little under a year now and happy with it. Every place has its pros and cons, but this is one of the best apartment experiences I've had in Los Angeles. I don't feel like there was anything they were hiding during the tour or application process, what you see is solidly what you get and they were very forthcoming. Review's pretty long, but this is what I tend to look for with apartments and what usually comes up when talking to others about the experience.
The onsite team takes management of the property seriously. Complaints are addressed quickly, the property is meticulously taken care of and clean. Maintenance requests are usually handled same day. Every member of the staff I've interacted with, from maintenance to office to security, is exceedingly friendly and flexible--if you communicate and help them do their jobs, they will bend over backwards to help you back.
Michael handled my tour, application, move in, and more. He is FANTASTIC. Greets us by name, always friendly, always helpful and communicative, always patient with my questions. Alyssa has helped me out on a bunch of other small day-to-day things too, and she's wonderful.
The pool and spa are always clean, heated, and nicely decorated. The garden style structure is AWESOME, great walking areas and the air feels so much fresher and cleaner than outside the property. Staff puts on cute community events with free food. The gym and community center are small but well-maintained. Love the free coffee. Utilities are largely handled through the apartment portal, you really only have to handle the electric bill and internet yourself. The Spectrum guy for the complex is awesome, secured us a good price and got us set up by move in day for WFH.
The area outside the complex is older and not so well kept as the interior, but not unsafe. Traffic on Roscoe can get wild, but the side road and intersection with the light are incredibly handy. It is right next to a train track and there's a crossing nearby, so you will regularly hear the horn and the train passing. We are further into the property interior and we got used to it pretty fast, but I can imagine some folks on the back wall might get a louder experience. Parking on the street outside can get a little tight. Our guests often have to walk a bit after finding a spot. The gated resident parking feels safe, I see maintenance folks out and about during the day and security patrolling at night.
My neighbors are friendly and respectful, no bad interactions yet. Some folks on the property are not the most responsible dog owners and don't clean up after their pets, but the staff does their best to enforce the rules and will still clean up after those people. There are doggy bag stations available on the walkways. Still, some areas smell like dog pee, especially any rock landscaped areas that don't have sprinklers to wash it away. Our apartment patio seems to be near a doggy potty hotspot.
I'm getting a doorbell camera as I've had a few packages (4 in 10 months) swiped from my doorstep. The Amazon locker helps with that, but it isn't always used by delivery folks. There aren't hall cameras unless you install one yourself.
We're on the ground floor and have had few issues with pests. The occasional silverfish and spider will pop by, and we've got some earwigs, but you can just call the office and they'll schedule a treatment when their guy comes every Friday. If you didn't cause an infestation, it's not any extra cost to you.
The apartment interior is nicely done and updated, with some quirks. The flooring (some kind of vinyl plank?) is rather delicate and lifts easily, even with felt feet on all our furniture. Sometimes the adhesive from under the flooring will seep up between the cracks and make a sticky dark spot, but nothing some goo-gone can't clear up. A few of the doorways don't fully close from too many layers of paint, and the bathroom fans have trouble keeping up with post-shower moisture.
Overall, love the apartment and would recommend it to friends. Hope to live here for a while.
