Simplicity, beauty, and accessibilityis it possible to have all three when looking for an apartment home? At the Cypress Point Apartment community in Northridge, CA, it absolutely is. The buildings exterior is drenched with simple, modern charm, and that atmosphere continues into each of the 1-bedroom apartments and uniquely furnished studios. The grounds also feature a soothing spa for your enjoyment. A tucked-away feel and quiet surroundings make the Cypress Point Apartment community seem comfortably secluded. Located close to shopping, dining, and plenty of other adventures, Cypress Point also sits conveniently near California State University at Northridge (CSUN).
I’ll start with the positives. This apartment is in a great location, especially for CSUN students. The property manager, Asha, is very nice and helpful, and always available when needed.
As for the negatives, the rent increased by $300 in just two years. More importantly, the security deposit is not fully returned, regardless of how well you take care of the apartment. We are very clean tenants and maintained the unit extremely well, yet were charged $500 for carpet replacement, $200 for deep cleaning, and additional fees for painting. At that point, there’s little incentive to clean, since these charges seem to apply no matter what.
Every other place we’ve lived returned 100% of our deposit, so this was disappointing and left a bad final impression.

I’ve lived here since September and the maintenance guys are very friendly and efficient! They’re very fast and are usually able to fix whatever needs to be fixed the next day which is so helpful 🙏

The best thing about this apartment complex: Francisco in maintenance. He's incredible: so quick to address an issue, and diligent about following up. Without him my experience at Cypress McKinney Falls would be a lot less positive. (Maybe 3 stars)
Overall, I've had similar experiences listed in other reviews.
- Beautiful property, decent gym (with 24hr access)
- New apartments, but not very solid construction. I can hear people talking in the breezeway from my bedroom, and I could hear every slam of the three young kids running around upstairs when I was in an apartment with upstairs neighbors.
- lovely walking areas (though I've stumbled across people living in their cars and tents in some of them)
- Some difficult experiences with management failing to address lease violations and then escalating conflict and animosity that already existed between me and my neighbors. After those difficult experiences, management was still willing to work with me to get me into another apartment and away from that neighbor, and I'm grateful for that.
- a big community of vultures lives in the tower near building 1000 and its so wonderful to watch their evening social gatherings.
