Having been here at Esprit for 12 plus years I have seen my share of turnover in personnel... Some were quite excellent and others hmmmm. I would like to offer my thoughts on several individuals that I believe truly make a difference.
First is Virginia Cecefia, we have been friends for over 20 years and during all of that time she has always been there with a great smile laced with the willingness to step up and extend any support necessary to resolve any issues, I have encountered. On a scale of 1 to 10 Virgina is truly a 10.
Second is Andrea Zazueta who oversees the Marine portion of Esprit Marina. Andrea has one of hardest jobs here at Esprit. With over 400 slips she encounters over 400 different personalities that requires her to defuse and offer support to renters that are angry and yes incredible rude in many cases. I have watched firsthand her dealing with such situations in her office. She remains calm, she listens and then offers solutions to address the renter’s complaint. Andrea is well grounded and does an excellent job.
Third is Oscar Romero, driven is an understatement, his attitude is filled with what can I do to offer you support and address any issues you are experiencing, said eyes that smile. Oscar is never to busy to listen, for what may be a small request to the renter it’s huge. Oscar makes the hard issues look easy, because he is a people person 100%. This can never be taught it must come from within. The fact that I rent apartment #6001 on the main channel plus I rent four slips for a total of about 120K plus per year it’s important to be surrounded by individuals that I care about and trust to watch my back.

Hello to future residents, live through this with me and think about whether this is the place where you would want to live.
I would like to fully describe the situation I have faced from the very beginning of my interaction with Esprit, so that you have the complete picture of what I feel.
I just want to note that more than 20 days have passed, and I haven’t received any adequate, or indeed any, solution from them. Moreover, the leasing office stated that they see no reason for a compromise, meaning I conclude that this is normal for them and they always operate this way.
We first contacted Esprit on August 20. Through the online chat I tried to schedule a tour, but I was told that the next 2–3 days were not available, and this went on for a whole week. Only on August 28 I was able to arrange it, free some time from work, and come for the tour. In the lobby we were met by manager Adam, who took us to his office. My wife sat on a chair, but I was not even offered one, there was only a single chair. Already this looked strange, but okay.
Adam told us that the apartment we were interested in would only be available almost a month later, by September 25, and until then it could not be shown (then what was the point of this tour?).
The “tour” itself looked strange. Adam played on his phone a video of a two-story apartment of a completely different layout. Then he found another video and said: “Here is a studio.” We watched and said okay, it probably suits us.
After that I asked about EV charging — this was extremely important for me. He said that there were no dedicated stations, but they could give us a spot near an outlet. I thought — fine, I will buy a Tesla adapter and be able to charge the car.
After that he said, if you want to apply you can do it on the website, and that was it — the so-called tour was over. It lasted about 5 minutes. At that moment I thought — and for “this” I waited a week, freed time from work, drove here 40 minutes and then 40 minutes back? In that case they could have simply sent me a video of the unit and I would have watched it at home and saved a lot of time.
Adam did not show us any community zones, the gym, pool, grill, or the property at all. He also did not mention payments or any additional fees. I left with a feeling of disappointment.
Later I tried to clarify questions via chat, but they told me the office would contact me — no one did. After a few days we submitted an application for studio.
Then another similar studio became available starting September 8, and we again scheduled a tour to see it in reality and understand.
That tour was conducted by Danielle — she was polite, explained everything about the unit in detail and showed us the studio. She answered our questions and said she was starting move-ins, so she would ask another manager to show us the Esprit community.
Then Sophia joined. She said that Adam told her he had already given us a full tour and showed everything, but this was not true. Sophia showed us the community: pool, gym, lounge areas, а cinema theatre, a pier, and paddleboards, and she said that residents can use them.
We submitted the application in advance and waited for September 25. We had to unload all our belongings from the previous place and put them in Public Storage for 10 days, since our previous lease ended on September 15.
On September 24, when we were on the road 400 miles from LA, around 5 PM Adam called us. He asked when it was convenient for us to start move-in tomorrow. I said that at 9 AM we will be there and want to start earlier to move things in one day. Adam then said that for move-in we needed new utility accounts, a move-in payment check, and insurance. I asked if I could first move in and then bring the utility accounts later (water, electricity, gas). He said no, that was impossible.
I apologize for the length of this, the review continues in pictures …
