  DO NOT move in here whatever you do. I lived on the first floor of this building for the past year and I left absolutely traumatized. The building has a SEVERE ROACH INFESTATION. For the last 7 weeks of my lease, my own unit had over 100 roaches enter the apartment through the walls (meaning I watched them crawl out of the cracked baseboards) and through the plumbing (they laid eggs in my dishwasher). My apartment was pest control sprayed WEEKLY, but that doesn’t matter when the roaches have completely infested the plumbing of the building. There is a REASON that they offer pest control WEEKLY to residents; it’s because the building is horribly infested and they know it, and continue to market as “luxury apartments”. There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING luxurious about this building. The pool has had the same trash laying in the bushes for over a year. Half of the equipment in the fitness room is in horrible condition (the bike seats are destroyed and a treadmill is stuck on an incline). The laundry, don’t get me started. Half of the dryers do not work, and the washing machines are constantly full of animal fur and have a weird smell. If you live on the first floor, you HAVE TO have something covering your window at all times because the walkway is directly outside the window and people can look straight into your apartment without even trying. I couldn’t tell you how many times my BATHTUB regurgitated black gunk from the pipes. The smells in the hallways are sometimes so putrid you have to cover your nose (not to mention the carpets are horrid). When I tried to get out of my lease because the roaches had caused so much mental anguish (with only a month and a half to go), the manager refused to let me leave. They told me that getting my apartment sprayed would solve the problem and it did not, how could it? The problem was never me or my apartment, it was the building (when I stopped by a month after moving out to pick up some mail, I poked my head in my former apartment and saw an empty space with roaches scattered across the floor). Management did not care about the situation, they were only concerned with getting their check on the 1st of every month. Please, for your own sake, stay far away from Duet on Wilcox.

  I’m so glad I decided NOT to go with this apartment building. I toured an apartment and applied back in the summer. Luckily, I saw enough bad reviews I decided not to move forward and was told I’d receive my $300 deposit back. It has been 3-5 months now and still no refund. They said it has to be sent in a check for a reason unbeknownst to me— meaning it can only mean fraud. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
