1522 nightmare- rainwater intrusion, mold contamination, and severe health consequences.
In mid-November, our top-floor unit experienced significant rainwater intrusion from the balcony. Despite reporting it, the issue was not addressed for over two weeks, during which time conditions worsened and our health began deteriorating. We developed symptoms including burning eyes, breathing difficulty, lung irritation, hives, and neurological symptoms that made it impossible to safely remain in the unit. We were forced to relocate to hotels out of concern for our health before management even began repair attempts or temporarily relocated us.
After repairs were declared “complete,” we returned to the unit only to immediately experience worsening symptoms again. Management claimed the air quality was acceptable but refused to provide the testing results. Due to the severity of our symptoms, we hired an independent professional mold inspection. The results confirmed elevated mold levels, including multiple species exceeding outdoor baselines and habitable safety thresholds. Additionally, portions of the flooring remained wet, confirming that the moisture issue had not been properly resolved.
As a result, we have remained displaced for over two months, paying out-of-pocket hotel costs while our belongings remain in a contaminated unit. Despite providing management with medical documentation, inspection reports, and continued updates, they have failed to had provide meaningful remediation, compensation, or resolution.
Instead, we been met with eviction notices and continued rent demands for a unit that has been uninhabitable and unsafe to occupy. Under California law, tenants are entitled to a habitable living environment, which clearly has not been provided. Like you don’t do anything amongst all evidence as loyal resident over 2 years and no issues. Atleast just pick one unreasonable thing yet still not enough????
This situation caused severe disruption to our health, finances, and daily complete living. We have never missed rent, never had prior disputes, and were loyal residents for over two years. The lack of urgency, transparency, and accountability in addressing a serious environmental and health hazard is deeply concerning—especially for a property marketed as luxury housing, yet any issues you have they do nothing and no resolutions and will give you notices to threaten you and cheap do nothing anything just nothing…. Like everyone I talk to including so many different apartment leasing agents while touring all in beyond shock and disbelief of how they handle this.
We have been displaced for more than 2 months now paying hotel and other expenses all out of pocket, while the unsafe conditions was persist.
This experience has been devastating, and I strongly urge prospective tenants to carefully consider the risks before leasing at this property or company.
N.I.G.H.T.M.A.R.E!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never in whole life ever imagined or experience. Ever. You’ll end up with ptsd and trauma from any issues instead put it on you and not care on top of beyond suffering and lasting health consequences. So unimaginably cruel for no reason, something very very severely wrong with customer service girl or boy LC. Makes me very concerned tbh. Traumatized enough with flood to mold to health damages to do nothing and cover nothing amongst all evidence and persistent cooperative communication. Then add nonexistent fees and differnt processings like ew. Weird and scary apartment and apartment management! Never ever experienced so beyond nightmare. Wish we never rented here if this would be of result. Id strongly suggest to Stay away any other complex for 3x less rent is likely even better than any of this unless you want lasting trauma financial loss and health consequences.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering moving here to do thorough research first.
Our experience with management at Metropolis was extremely disappointing. We were charged for items that we believe were not ours, and the handling of our notice and eviction process was confusing and inconsistent. We are also currently being told we owe additional rent after already receiving a three-day notice, which does not align with our understanding of the situation.
In addition, the living conditions were not what we expected. The walls are very thin, making it easy to hear neighbors above and beside us. We also experienced ongoing rodent issues. Several amenities were frequently unavailable or not functioning.
Our unit was located near the back of the property close to surrounding restaurants, and there were often individuals loitering in the area, which made us feel uncomfortable at times.
Overall, our experience was negative, and we would not choose to live here again.
