It’s been unfortunate that it has come down to me writing a ‘bad review’ but the straw that broke the camel’s back happened last night. I will explain in detail why if I had to do it over again on purchasing a home I would consider LGI, Lennar, KB Homes etc. Or any other builder aside from Pulte. The exact reason why is build quality and lack thereof ‘quality’ altogether mixed with poor communication to non-existent communication. We moved into the Baywood Crossing community on Jan 19th and on that day we immediately began to notice issues with their build quality. We walked in and had a bunch of loose dust and dirt that had come in from the sliding doors and our ‘upgraded’ double sliding glass door in the back wall of the house. It wasn’t just a small amount that we could wipe clean, it was a pile of it. Check the pics below. We asked if they could come and send someone to fix it. They scheduled a third party to come out but not until a month later which was their next available slot. On 2/17 the third party construction worker came out to LOOK at it and he’s trying to walk inside my house with big dirty boots I kindly ask him to put on booties if he had and he didn’t so I went to grab him a pair so he doesn’t mud up our tile floor. I think this somehow made him upset because he starts being rude and catching an attitude that this is how it’s supposed to be and this is normal. And this is before he even got to the glass doors to look at the problem. In between this month long wait we had some very light rain that happened and that also came into the house. So, excuse me but this is not “normal” and needs to be addressed and fixed. As he finally gets to the back door he aggressively asked, “Well did it come inside the house?” I tend to reply to baseless questions with a question of my own so my question back was, “Did they show you the pictures that I sent in?” The pictures show all of the dust and dirt that came into the house and was all over our tile floor that came in from both of our sliding doors in the back. I have a 1 year old toddler and I can’t have her constantly breathing in dust and dirt particles when she feels like crawling around the house. The guy wanted me to sign off on some paper after not doing anything so I didn’t sign off and he became more unpleasant. I wasn’t going to sign off on anything because It wasn’t clear what I was signing for and his story wasn’t making sense as well as him being rude. He left saying that he was going to type his report and then someone would call me. I asked him why couldn’t we call someone on the phone right now to see what the fix or the game plan would be. He said, “No, that’s not how this works, I have to do a report. But I promise they will call you tomorrow.” I still haven’t heard back from any third party or Pulte for that matter. It’s funny because in my email to them I asked for help with these several matters after two were already scheduled for repairs. The dust issue I thought was scheduled for 2/7 originally wasn’t til 2/17 and then we had pipes in the attic shaking when flushing toilets in three of the bathrooms and when the master vanity sink was used. This was a loud rattling noise when the pipe would shake and hit up against the wood studs. The third party plumbing company came out on 2/7 and had to add three additional pipe straps. Per plumbing code the pipe should be strapped at least every four feet so this means they shouldn’t have passed inspection since 12 feet of pipe was not strapped up in the attic. More than anything this is very indicative of how they build homes. Build cheap and build fast, or wait maybe just build fast and build it cheap. Nothing more nothing less. That’s why I am refusing to settle for this crappiness because we didn’t buy a cheap house. The house was $650k after all of the ‘upgrades’ we opted for through the build process. This is not our first rodeo either; we've been fortunate to have purchased a total of five homes, still owning three of them...rest in the screenshots since it's too long...
