Do not work with this company! The latest in a very long list of disappointments is that we were given notice on Thursday at noon that power washing on balconies and in the parkade will begin at 8:30 am on Monday. That's less than two business days' notice just before a weekend to clear out everything. Our manager is currently Bill Houston. Maybe other managers are better, but we've cycled through a few, and they have all been terrible. I have no idea why we pay this irresponsible and unprofessional company so much money every month for doing next to nothing. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a property management company.
I’ve heard that many strata property management companies can be difficult to deal with, but the property I purchased has phenomenal management—and it was one of the main reasons I decided to choose this property. They keep the building well maintained, up to date, and properly upgraded.
Ken Kantman, the strata manager, is especially worth mentioning for his excellent service. He responds to emails efficiently—usually within 24 hours—and consistently gets things done.
Buying a property isn’t just about the appearance or location; strata management plays a vital role. Good management helps prevent ongoing issues and can protect you from potential financial hardship, such as major losses due to neglected repairs or poor oversight.

As a condo owner and member of our building’s strata council in Olympic Village, I wanted to share how great it has been working with our Associa strata manager, Mahyar Attar.
Mahyar is incredibly knowledgeable. Whenever we have questions, he either knows the answer right away from experience or takes the time to find the right information for us. He consistently goes the extra step comparing pricing and reaching out to multiple vendors to make sure our building is getting the best options, even when it means extra work for him.
Our council and building have been very happy with the level of care, professionalism, and effort he puts into his role.
Thank you, Mahyar!
I’m usually the first person to complain when a strata management company drops the ball, so I feel it’s only fair to say something when things are actually run well. Our building is with Associa BC and the manager assigned to us, Mahyar Attar, has been great to deal with.
What I’ve noticed is that he’s very on top of things. If something is reported in the building, it doesn’t just disappear into a black hole. He follows up, coordinates the right contractors, and keeps council and residents informed so people know what’s happening. That alone is refreshing compared to experiences I’ve had in other buildings.
He also seems to know the rules and legislation really well, which helps when council is trying to figure out the right way to handle things. Instead of guessing, he explains what the proper process is and helps the building avoid making mistakes that could create bigger issues later.
Another thing I appreciate is that he communicates like a normal person. Responses are straightforward and clear, not full of confusing jargon or vague answers. It makes dealing with building matters a lot less frustrating.
Managing a strata is a complicated job and it’s easy for people to overlook the work that goes on behind the scenes. From what I’ve seen, Mahyar Attar works hard to keep things organized and running smoothly, and it shows. I’ve had a positive experience with Associa BC because of it.
I usually don’t write reviews, but after dealing with a lot of different strata managers over the years I felt this one was worth mentioning. Our building is managed by Associa BC, and our strata manager, Mahyar Attar, has honestly been one of the most competent managers we’ve worked with.
Strata management is not an easy job. You’re dealing with contractors, council members, budgets, bylaws, complaints, emergencies, and hundreds of residents who all want something yesterday. What stands out about Mahyar is that he actually understands the technical and legal side of the job, especially the Strata Property Act, and doesn’t just give generic “management company” responses.
When issues come up, he digs into them properly instead of brushing them off. Whether it’s coordinating trades, sorting out complicated building issues, dealing with insurance matters, or helping council understand the right way to handle something, he’s very thorough and solution-oriented.
He’s also extremely responsive, which is rare in this industry. Emails get answered quickly, problems don’t sit around forever, and he follows things through until they’re actually resolved. Communication is straightforward and professional, and you can tell he genuinely takes pride in managing the buildings properly rather than just doing the bare minimum.
Strata management is often a thankless job, but having someone competent and proactive makes a huge difference for a building. Based on our experience, Associa BC is fortunate to have Mahyar Attar on their team, and our building has benefited a lot from his work. I’d definitely recommend them.
