I want to take a moment to recognize Clodina for her outstanding customer service. She is the new manager here, and from the moment I met her, I could tell she truly cares about this property and the people who live here. She is sweet, kind and very helpful. When I first spoke with her, I was feeling frustrated, but her humility, patience, and genuine willingness to listen completely turned that around. She made me feel seen and heard, which is something that means a lot as a resident and as a human being. Clodina brings a level of professionalism and compassion that this community truly needs. You can tell she cares about her job. Give this woman a raise immediately! I’ve lived here for a few years, and if there’s ever been a reason to renew my lease, it’s because of people like her. Clodina thank you for making my day and I cant stop thinking about it. You never know what people are going through.

I’ll start off by saying that, if I could leave zero stars I would! When I first moved into The Rey Downtown, it seemed like a great place.. nice building and location but the experience quickly went downhill. The property became dirty, maintenance requests were ignored, and communication with management was nearly impossible. Even worse, despite the lease, a legal document clearly stating that the security deposit would be returned within 14 business days, it’s now been over a year and we still haven’t received it. I’ve called every week, and the only excuse we ever get is, “we have a new manager.” To top it off, management constantly pushes residents to leave positive reviews by dangling raffle entries or gift cards, which explains why so many reviews don’t reflect the real experience here. At this point, that’s not just unprofessional it’s theft. The owners of this property should be absolutely ashamed of how they treat their tenants.

Read the reviews. This place is a circus. Seriously. Do not move here if you place any value on your life.

The staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. My apartment is perfect- my friends and I refer to it as my little jewelry box.

Moved out end of June 2025 and months later still had not received our refundable security deposit or had any correspondence back from The Rey. We kept getting the runaround for over 3 months…. At time of move out, we asked to do a final walkthrough with management/maintenance and they told us that they do not do that, they inspect the unit without the tenants. When we followed up on the security deposit status the front desk employee stated security deposits are used to clean the apartment; however, we left our unit thoroughly clean at move out. Be sure to take pictures and videos to support your claims! Final unit costs that get billed through the company portal included a charge for spot cleaning the carpet. At one point they tried to tell us that the security deposit was used for that extra fee. Be sure to look at every item that you get billed for before paying to avoid double billing issues. The previous apartment we rented from did a final inspection with us, saw no problems and refunded our entire deposit within 6 weeks of moving out. UPDATE: After 4 months of continuous contact with The Rey by phone, email, and in person new management refunded our security deposit. Proceed with caution when dealing with apartment complexes and refundable security deposits. Ask about their move out process. Ask if they do a final walk through of the unit with you prior to turning in your keys. The Rey didn’t do this in June 2025.
