3/15:
The walls are paper thin, there is the constant sound of construction outside my bedroom window from sun up to sun down, the breaker trips at least once a month, kids are always in the street and there's no extra parking anywhere.
All of this is livable but the recent treatment from the front office staff has been dishonorable at best.
Although rent is due on the 1st, there is a grace period, like most apartments, until the 4th. I attempted to pay my rent at 11pm on 3/3 but the system would not allow it. I contacted the AI assistant, he sent a notice to the staff. The next day, 3/4, I received a message, clearly a human, telling me i never even logged in to pay rent which prompted me to call the office. Upon calling the office, a gentleman informed me that he saw me access the portal the previous night in the 11o'clock hour. He then stated that I would need to bring in a money order due to the rent being late after 11:59 cst because the system is in CST as opposed to AZ time. I then asked for documentation to which someone began to coach him in the background telling him its in the lease repeatedly. I asked specifically where in the lease and if it stated that rent was late after 11PM CST. To which he stated that rent is due on the 1st and it is up to their (the staff's)discretion to allow me to pay it there after. He then continued to look for the information, stating i would need to bring in a money order for all fees accrued.
I could not locate the specified verbiage in my lease. The lease states " Rent that is not received by 11:59pm on the 3rd day of the
month will be considered late, and Resident will be obligated to pay an initial non-
charged each day thereafter, not to exceed 15 days in one month, beginning on the 4th day of
the month and continue until Rent and all Additional Rent is paid in full." Page 8.
To make matters worse, I have left messages with the regional and corporate to diffuse the situation and understand if this is truly in the lease but I have instead received threats to evict and be taken to court on 3/20.
These statements are unacceptable from a leasing team and the failure of a system should not fall on the tenant. The statement "its at our discretion" implies that the terms set forth in the lease will not be enforced fairly across tenants, potentially opening tenants up to discrimination and ill intent from BB Living.
This team does not honor their leasing agreements and value their ego over tenant.
3/16: Update-
The tone deaf response from this company echos the sentiments already expressed. The regurgitation of the lease is redundant as I have already pointed out the obvious. In retaliation to me posting online, a now certified letter has been sent to my door.
Outside of the notices, there have been 0 attempts to contact me, I live in the apartments. None of my calls to the Regional manager Christopher have been returned.
3/17: Still no contact
