Be sure to also check UNDER your shingles! We just found out there's NO UNDERLAYMENT (tar paper) on more than half our roof! Ofc they knew it would take a few years to leak so now it's out of their hands! Also be sure to D/T the people they have do the "repairs" seeing how the last one they sent out put the window in upside down, broke the siding and was hitting a glass pipe in his truck on break!

I purchased a home with this company in July of 2025 and it is now January 2026 and I am ready to write my full review. I am going to be a bit long winded here, but I am going to write the review that I wish I saw before starting the home buying process with this company. For those that don't want to read, the summary is that I HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who already owns flat land with utilities at the property or unlimited financial resources. I would probably look elsewhere if you are buying land without utilities already established. The staff at Freedom Homes are great, but they are NOT contractors and the contractors they work with let me down quite a bit. The Good: First I want to say that I am unsure what they are paying Kristina in the office- but whatever it is they need to DOUBLE IT! She is amazing, attentive, and very good with details. Through this process she was so kind and we genuinely could not have done it without her. I feel the prices on the homes are fair and for the most part they will work with you on customization options and financing. They really do what they can to help out if something doesn't go to plan and they don't "guess". They have no problem saying "I don't know, let me look into it" instead of just saying whatever. For the most part the communication was good. They were always as clear as they could be. When there were pauses in the process due to construction delays I do wish somebody would text or call saying "no update, just checking in". By the end they were doing that but I don't love having to ask for that. The Bad: Before we closed on our home we were given an estimate for land clearing, a dirt pad, electrical, water, and septic with a contractor that works with Freedom Homes. The price was insane, so we opted to do the water, land clearing, and electric ourselves. I bought land that was on an insane slope so after spending months clearing almost a full acre I kept asking the contractor if the driver needs to see the house. He said no. Multiple times. This resulted in my home delivery getting delayed and having to pay another $2k to have a ramp built because the driver indeed needed to see the property before we called ourselves done because of the slope. The contractor also did my septic tank- but did not connect it to the house. That is fine because that is what we agreed to. However after it was installed we asked for information regarding the septic tank because they are all different and we wanted as much information as we could get. To this day- they can not tell me ANYTHING about this septic tank. Where did it come from? Brand? Serial Number? Specs? anything. I have no idea what is buried in my back yard or where it came from. This made getting it connected to the house fairly cumbersome, but we got it done. Ultimately there was a lot of "guessing" on the construction side of things. I feel like for what they were charging they should have been able to be more accurate with everything. We didn't mind doing some things ourselves, but I do feel like they were trying to "punish me" for not wanting them to do everything. Whenever I asked what they needed me to do to get them to the next step or for clarification on what they did so I can continue the conversation always immediately was "well this is why we usually just do it all ourselves". I would have let them, but I just couldn't afford them to, and they knew that. And before yall start, I do understand that they are skilled laborers who invest in their business with years off their spine and crazy expensive equipment. HOWEVER, They literally quoted me TWICE as much as the 5 other local contracting crews I contacted but couldn't use due to them not being a part of Vanderbilt's payment system.

I walked into their office one afternoon and picked out a house that I liked. 1 week later I was closing. The next day they brought it to me. The next 2 days I hooked the utilitys up. The very next day, they installed air conditioning, underpinnined and did service work. I am literally living in my house after first talking to them 2 weeks ago. And it's a house I love everything about. And on top of that, they financed me with a company that also provides top notch service.
