Don’t live at the crimson unless it is the last resort. The room that you actually get is nowhere near the quality of the one that they show. The property is terribly maintained, and the hallways/stairwells (at least the ones that aren’t in the main building) are filthy. Our AC was out for the first two weeks that we stayed there, which was miserable in the heat of August, especially when moving stuff. It seems ridiculous that they would not have that fixed by the time we move in. There is also a really big cockroach problem that was consistent throughout the year. The pool and the gates around the property that were advertised before moving in weren’t even in operation for the majority of our time there. Overall just a very negative experience. One good thing is that the maintenance guys were really friendly and typically did a good job whenever they were finally able to get to our place, which I’m guessing took so long because of the many issues all across the property. Also, the bus was very convenient to get to campus. If the apartments weren’t so expensive I would leave a better review, as things like this might be expected at a lower price, but for the price that the crimson charges, its hard not too think that they’re just taking advantage of their residents. If you could somehow secure a deal where the monthly rent was much lower, then maybe give the crimson a shot, otherwise, I’d strongly advise against signing with them.

I lived here for two years while in graduate school. During the ‘22-‘23 leading term everything was decent. I had an issue with my water staying warm for a long period of time but after several complaints the issue was resolved. There was a change in management during my ‘23-‘24 leasing term that residents were not notified about. This is when the problems seem to begin. The staff became less personable and maintenance requests took days to address. The elevator in building 1 would be absolutely disgusting and would out of service for days at a time. Trying to be an understanding resident, I overlooked some of these red flags. The main problem transpired when I was about to move out in July 2025. The elevator went dusk and had been out of service for almost two weeks. Bring that I lived on the 4th floor, the elevator was a major component in my ability to remove my items from the unit. When I contacted staff to inquire about the repair of the elevator and how was I supposed to move out if I couldn’t access the elevator , it was met with dismissal. I was basically told to figure it out and staff would not assist in helping me get large items down from the fourth floor. After threatening to contact upper management, the managers who are just so happen never in the office contacted me with updates. 3-4 months post move out, I receive an email stating I owe for damages. I refuted these damages by providing video proof. According to staff I “damaged the blinds on the window ”. Eventually this was changed to “the blinds on the back door”. It took an additional 2 months for them provide proof of such damages. The charge was approximately $50-$60. I tried to communicate with a manager but they discontinued contact. I went ahead and paid the fee because they were threatening to report this false charges to the credit bureau. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
The most interesting part about this situation was when I called and spoke with staff member who works in the office I was told “managers haven’t been really looking at those forms disputing damage charges”. This is very concerning coming from individuals working in the office.
As a resident if the crimson for almost three years, I can attest to the notion that a large amount of the positive comments are because they bribe residents. Every once in a while they’ll send an email asking clients to leave a google review to be entered into a raffle to win great prizes.
Another interesting fact, one summer night while sitting my balcony I witnessed two adolescents walk into the parking lot (building 1) and start messing with vehicles. They successfully opened the trunk of one of the parked vehicles. I notified the “after hours staff” and ensured they’d relay the message. I also contacted the staff and was told “oh wow… well if you see this again call 9-1-1”.. but we’re supposed to have security (another lie).
I would say make sure you all take photos/videos of EVERY LITTLE THING on move in and move out because they will find a way to charge you. Good luck!

It’s a nice, furnished apartment with great amenities. The staff members are very nice and helpful. The only issue I have had was my apartment not being completely ready when I moved in. I paid extra to move in early, but there was a hole in my wall where the previous resident mounted a TV. There was also a missing rod in my closet. I put in a request to have these things fixed the day I moved in, but it took them a few weeks to fix it. I’m sure it was most likely due to other residents moving in later, but it would have been nice to have those things taken care of before I moved in. My experience has been great otherwise! I haven’t had to put in many maintenance requests. They also have fun events for the residents! It’s also very close to campus. I would recommend it!

Coming back on my other email address to continue my complaining. The internet system here is the worst! Almost every single night it goes down. EVERY TIME! And Xfinity can’t do anything because it’s “managed wifi”. Now. What does that mean? It means this complex is turning off our internet at times they assume to be “no one around” so that they don’t have to pay as much. And they can pocket our extra internet money! DO NOT LIVE HERE! It’s insane how pointless it is to bring issues to them. These people do not care. TO THOSE WHO LIVE HERE! TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU LEAVE SO THEY CANT FORCE YOU TO PAY FOR DAMAGES YOU DID NOT CAUSE!

Major issues like a missing bedroom door and closet door, Broken living room window, as well as other things were all supposed to be resolved within days of me moving in, conveyed by both contractors and team members that I spoke to on move in day and the maintenance team that came in to fix the stove and replace my AC unit, which had broke before moving in. I was even pulled aside to a separate room so that others moving in would not hear how bad the condition of my unit was. All of this doesn't even include how dirty the unit was when I moved in, where I found multiple articles of clothing, trash, and even what I assume was the previous tenant's I.D. Left behind, hair and odor from pets as well as the several holes left in the unit, broken porch light, and other issues that have been fixed but shouldn't have been there move in day. Most of the repairs had to be redone because they weren't the first time. There just seems to be a lack of care and urgency, for what I'm paying this should not be the case. And it has been months with no update on my doors or window. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
