First, let me say this I love TJ Towers. The leasing agents are wonderful, and the downtown location is really good. The only reason I’m giving a lower rating is because there are no amenities for residents. It feels like the owner mainly focuses on the restaurant upstairs and the two other businesses that rent space here, rather than the residents who actually live in the building. There are no activities or community features for tenants, and many of us have talked about how we wish things were more resident-focused. Now, to be fair, this is an old historical landmark that’s been converted into apartments, so there will naturally be some quirks especially with electronics, plumbing, and other systems. Personally, I haven’t had any major issues with heat or my power bill, and I understand that the elevator goes down occasionally because of the building’s age. That’s part of its charm for me; I actually like the historical features that make it unique. However, I really wish the owner would invest some time into adding or improving resident amenities. For example, today my friend tried to use the downstairs dog-washing area, but it was locked — small things like that would make a big difference. Overall, Thomas Jefferson Towers is still one of the most affordable and charming places to live downtown, especially if you’re single. I can’t speak for families or older couples, but for me, it’s been a comfortable and affordable home — it just needs some community care to match its potential.

The management doesn’t care anything about the people who live here. the elevator breaks down consistently. The fire alarm is faulty, goes off all throughout the night randomly. They rent out units to Airbnb and the people who come in don’t care about the property so they leave it any kind of way it’s ridiculous. They let dogs piss in the elevators and the people don’t clean it up. Do not move here. I haven’t had central heat or air for over a month and it’s getting cold and no sense of urgency on the properties part. The did put a portable unit in for air but come on. Edit: I see your reply and the elevator and fire alarm have been an issue for 6 months so there’s that. And the staff shouldn’t have to clean up after tenants animals. The tenants should be held accountable for this and fined so it won’t keep happening. Address the problem don’t put a bandaid on it. Even with someone coming to clean up it still happens. Preventative measures.

I’ve lived at TJ Towers for nearly two years and Eric as well as Cole are truly amazing! Anytime I need something they are prompt to respond and handle what’s in their control to the best of their abilities! Thank you both for all you do and the maintenance team ! ❤️💯✅

My husband and I really wanted to like this place-- great location, neat history, and apartments with character. Unfortunately, 5 months later, we regret our decision. Here are things I wish I had known: --Electricity is unbelievably expensive. we live in the smallest apartment (electric bills are calculated by sq. ft.), and last month, just our electricity bill was $200!!! --Safety and smells. Not only do the elevators break down often, but to get to your car, you have to walk through an alley full of trash. Speaking of parking-- the lot costs $150/month, but it completely open and unregulated, so cars are regularly broken-into --Noise. We often stay up past midnight. However, expect to be woken up by music from an event on the second floor or next-door bar at 3am, even on Sunday. nights. --Rude, condescending management. It hurts me to say this, but you get the feeling that this company really hates their residents. Exhibit A with the attached photo...seriously messed up:
