Angie was really great today. She was very professional. She explained everything in great detail. The building was beautiful. Very clean and taken care of. I had a very good experience and would recommend Mayfair on Jasper to anyone.

What an absolute pleasure it is to live at The Mayfair on Jasper Ave! After several months here, I can honestly say that the staff is the true heart of this building, and they’ve made it feel like home in the best possible way. The ladies in the office are an absolute delight, warm, professional, and always going the extra mile. Whether I have a question about my lease, need help with a package, or just want a friendly smile and a quick chat, they’re consistently kind and efficient. They make every interaction feel personal and never like just another task on their list. Our concierge is an incredibly helpful fella who deserves all the praise in the world. He remembers residents’ names, keeps an eye on the building, and is always ready with a solution or a recommendation. From coordinating deliveries to offering great local tips or simply brightening your day with his positive attitude, he’s one of those rare people who truly elevates the entire living experience. And I can’t say enough about the amazing maintenance man! This guy is a rock star. No matter how big or small the issue is, he shows up quickly, fixes it right the first time, and does it all with a great attitude and genuine care. He takes real pride in keeping the building in top shape, and it shows. Honestly, there couldn’t be a better team looking after this property. The combination of friendly professionalism, helpfulness, and true dedication from everyone makes The Mayfair stand out in a huge way. If you’re considering living here, know that you’re not just getting a great apartment, you’re getting an outstanding staff that genuinely cares. Thank you to the entire team!! Highly, highly recommended.

We were residents of this apartment building in downtown Edmonton for over two years. While our experience initially included both positive and negative aspects, the final year declined significantly, ultimately resulting in our lease renewal offer being revoked without notice. This review reflects our direct experience with the community manager, Amanda. A consistent concern throughout our final year was a lack of accountability specific to this position and person. Issues raised by tenants were often left unresolved, redirected, or required repeated follow-up. Communication became inconsistent, and posted building policies were not always clearly applied or enforced. Several current and former residents have begun sharing similar experiences, indicating a broader pattern with management practices at this downtown Edmonton apartment rental. During our tenancy, we encountered multiple tenant safety and operational concerns. These included unauthorized individuals accessing the building, repeated security issues in stairwells, and ongoing problems in shared amenities such as the dog park involving aggressive behavior. Despite reporting these concerns multiple times and following direction from property management, there was limited action taken to resolve the underlying issues. In at least one instance, this lack of enforcement contributed to a recent serious incident involving another resident’s dog. Changes to building systems, such as relocating the call box outside, introduced additional building security concerns. We began receiving repeated early-morning access requests from unknown individuals attempting to gain entry. When this was raised, the only solution offered was to remove our number from the system, rather than address the broader access control issue. While residents are encouraged to report concerns, community management responsiveness declined over time. Follow-ups were often required, and in some cases concerns were not acknowledged. We also experienced situations where professionalism and tenant privacy expectations in the management office were not met, including tenants remaining in the office as guests of Amanda's during private discussions. I've come to find out that much of the positive reviews naming Amanda are part of this group. It is important to highlight that our experience with other staff members—Angie, Ian, and Jordan—was consistently positive. Feedback in other reviews about them aligns with our experience: they are professional, responsive, and consistently go above and beyond to support residents and maintain a positive apartment living experience in downtown Edmonton. Overall, the building itself has strong potential and desirable features. However, based on our experience, improvements in community management accountability, tenant communication, consistency in policy enforcement, and building security practices are necessary to restore confidence and make it a reliable option for those seeking apartments for rent in downtown Edmonton.

I moved here in 2023 when Ines was the manager and at that time it was a great place to live — clean building, good atmosphere and it truly felt like home. Unfortunately, things changed after Amanda became the manager. From my experience, packages occasionally went missing, there were unfamiliar people (homeless sleeping in rhe garbage room or on the stairs or sometimes even Ive seen them walking on the hallways) in the building, and overall management quality declined - the experience felt disorganized, and it was difficult to resolve issues through communication. After I gave proper notice to end my lease (3 month in advance) my apartment was turned into a showroom without my consent while my belongings were still inside. People entered the unit, opened windows, blinds and closets while my personal belongings still inside. The worst part is how the showings have been handled - lights were left on after visits for 3 days non stop. I would come back and find them still on after being away for several days. When I asked about reimbursement (since the lights were on non stop 3 days not because I have used them), my requests were ignored. I always make sure to close the blinds before leaving, yet I’ve returned to find them open in every room. It creates a very uncomfortable feeling, as if I have no control over my own living space while my belongings are still inside. At this point, it feels like we were forced to remove our belongings just so the apartment could be used as a showroom, while we are still expected to pay rent until the end of the lease which is another 1.5months. It feels like the manager builds relationships with residents based on personal emotions rather than professionalism. At times, the dynamic feels more like a school setting, where the manager takes on the role of a strict principal and tenants are treated more like students being disciplined than residents in a professional environment. As tenants, we expect a professional, contract-based relationship, but instead interactions often feel uncomfortable and overly personal. It’s extremely difficult to resolve any issues, as there seems to be no willingness to engage in constructive dialogue or find solutions. The management clearly lacks basic professionalism and communication skills and does not prioritize residents’ comfort. I also have several friends living in the building who share similar feedback about what’s going on. It seems that the manager is more focused on dealing with her personal conflicts with tenants rather than actually performing her responsibilities: operational responsibilities such as maintenance, building cleanliness, parking organization (especially guest parking), general building upkeep etc. Angie (leasing agent) and Ian (concierge) are wonderful people — always friendly and pleasant to deal with — but due to the current manager Amanda we decided to move out. Unfortunately, the move-out process has also turned into a nightmare. Would not recommend under current management.
