  I have lived at The Hub for a semester now and I have really enjoyed it! It is a quiet building with essentials for students. I had a package go missing in transit, due to mistakes done by the delivery company. Emma at the front desk helped so much in locating the package! I was so beyond grateful. Monthly newletters and the occasitonal notifcations from The Hub also let me know in advance of any possible maintenance check-ins or loud noise (which was in a decent time of day). The Hub has been a great place for student living.

  I never leave reviews, but my experience at The Hub genuinely affected my safety, finances, and peace of mind, so I feel like people deserve to know what happened. I was matched with a roommate who became aggressive (not The Hub’s fault), but when I reported it, the “solutions” I was offered honestly felt ridiculous. My four options were: 1. move to a more expensive unit, 2. pay a lease-break fee and still be on the hook for rent until THEY found someone, 3. find someone myself (which is hard because they require a match in age and gender), or 4. call 911… LOL. None of these actually addressed the fact that I didn’t feel safe going back to my own home. I even showed evidence to explain it wasn’t a personality clash. Regardless, it felt like the responsibility was being placed entirely on me just because I was the one who reported it first. I ended up taking the situation to RTDRS and won. The officer directly said he would not approve what he called “double compensation,” and ruled that the landlord had substantially breached the Residential Tenancies Act. As for management: Rebecca comes across very friendly, but in my experience, she relied heavily on every possible policy/lease wording/technicality in a way that felt more like protecting the company than actually helping me resolve a genuinely unsafe situation. She’ll smile, she’ll use nice language, but I didn’t feel any real willingness to actually step in and support me as a tenant. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with. My advice if you rent here: Document EVERYTHING. Take photos. Save dates. Know your rights. Do your research. If something feels off or you’re hit with fees that don’t make sense, don’t be afraid to go to RTDRS, it made all the difference for me. Based on my experience, I personally wouldn’t move here again, and I really wish someone had told me all this before I signed.

  Living at The Hub has been an amazing experience! The building is modern and well-maintained. The amenities are fantastic, from the fitness centre to the common areas. What really stands out, though, is the staff. They are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that their residents are comfortable. Overall, The Hub is a fantastic place to live, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new place!
