I am extremely frustrated with the lack of professionalism from this condominium management company when it comes to updating my personal information. I have called at least five times and also sent multiple emails requesting that my contact details be updated. Each time, I was told the information had been corrected, yet nothing has actually changed. Despite living in my unit for the past 2–3 years, important communications are still being sent to the previous owner. This has become especially unacceptable this year with the special assessment notices. I did not receive the first installment email at all and have been forced to rely on the previous owner to forward me information—something I should not have to do. To make matters worse, on May 23, 2025, an employee (Jan K) sent an email to the previous owner referencing an outstanding balance. This clearly shows that the issue still has not been resolved. I was also told that manager named Kerry would update the information, but there has been no improvement. Keeping owner records accurate is a basic responsibility. The repeated failure to correct this issue reflects very poorly on the management.

City Search is a great property management company. They provide an excellent service with our property in Calgary and have been nothing but great at helping out and making a rental process easy. They are very efficient at keeping us and our tenants happy! Thanks again and we would highly recommend you to anyone else. Lisa and Lana you are great!

Landlording is no small task, and anyone who has done it understands the challenges involved. City Search has been an invaluable source of guidance and a partner I’ve been able to trust. I’ve worked with them for five years and have consistently been very satisfied with the service I’ve received from the entire team, especially Vicky Glenn. Thank you so much for all you did and for the invaluable service you provide for our community.

If you’re considering hiring or renting with Citysearch, here are useful contacts (you are going to need these info) contact: - Real Estate Council of Alberta - Complaints are filed against the registered broker, Lisa Hamielec, she is also the CEO of Citysearch. RECA will ask you to contact Lisa first and seek a resolution, after you do and fail, you should file the case with RECA and let them investigate. - Service Alberta regarding unfair business practices - You can also share your experience with CBC News and on social media to raise awareness and connect with others. There are few platforms where you can share your story. This is important to potentially regroup, discuss, and collectively apply pressure. A few important points to be aware of: Their contract is vague. It meant to protect and benefit them. They charge homeowners 15% on top of any repair or renovation services they arrange. This creates a situation where they can earn more from repairs than from managing your property. They profit from your losses. They might favor overpriced services, and make changes to your property against your recommendation. My impression of them is that they are greedy, money focused, and lack simplest customer skills. You and the tenant will end up renting your property from them. If you question their service, they would ignore your emails, give unreasonable explanations, and indirectly try to intimidate you. Would you invest your property in a business that won't respect your home and will profits when you lose? If you make this mistake, remember to share your experience with the community. Interesting fact, did you know that Lisa Hamielec, CEO & Broker, has written a book called "The Walrus Theory"? I suggest you google it. Thanks

Communication has been extremely disappointing throughout our experience. Our move-in day was particularly frustrating, especially since we had to pay a booking fee for the elevator. The security staff arrived 45 minutes late, seemed unprepared, and did not know how to properly lock the elevator. Once the issue was finally resolved, they gave our reserved elevator to another tenant to avoid a confrontation. As a result, we had to search multiple floors to locate it since it had been locked. We reached out via email to report this negative experience, but it took two weeks to receive any response. In their reply, management claimed we had been informed in advance about the delay, which is simply not true. While waiting, I sent multiple emails asking for an update—something I would not have needed to do if we had been properly informed. We were also told on March 10th we would receive a $100 refund from our move-in fee. It has now been a month, and we have yet to receive it. We have followed up three times via email and have not received any response. Overall, the lack of communication and follow-through has been very frustrating. Update: A representative reached out to apologize for the delayed refund. They also refunded the entire move-in fee, instead of only 100$.
