The woman working the register was very nice and helpful and talked to my somewhat stressed out dog. Plus while in the aisle I noticed a large pile of big dog poo! I didn’t see him do it but I have a feeling it was him. I had a grocery cart, a large shepherd and other stuff and couldn’t get up the poo. The woman working the register called and got help to pick up the poo. It was appreciated!

Corey and the rest of the groomers are top notch and they take care of our fur babies like they are theirs. I think it’s unfair for a person who had a bad experience to have a bunch of their friends leave bad reviews. I have been going to this specific Petco for three years now and they have been very open about shot verification and how it is needed to be able to be groomed. Also if you use the Petco app it will let you know that shots are needed and will also send emails. I just happened to see these reviews from the last day and just feel it is wrong that o have numerous friends and family members to leave bad reviews for the one incident. We love all areas of the Ranson Petco and we only trust them with our fur babies.

I’ve been a long-time Petco customer for years, but my recent experience with grooming at this location was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
I scheduled a grooming appointment for my dog on 1/16 for the next day (1/17). When my sister brought him in, he had an accident near the front door and went to get a bag from the grooming area. She was immediately met with attitude and told only one dog at a time is allowed, even though she was just grabbing a bag.
During check-in, they refused service because the rabies vaccine expired that same day (1/17). Frustrated by yet another miscommunication issue at this store, she left.
I called to ask why they didn’t check records and warn me about the expiration when I booked the appointment the day before. The person who answered (who identified himself as manager Cory) became immediately defensive and aggressive. He claimed employees called me and left voicemails on 1/16; but I checked during the call and there were none.
When I pointed this out, he accused me of calling his employees liars, repeated my phone number condescendingly, and contradicted himself (first saying they knew and called, then claiming they couldn’t know until the day it expired).
He shifted focus to complaining about my sister (claiming she was rude, slammed the door, which has a mechanism preventing slamming, and is now banned), despite me trying to keep the discussion on the communication failure.
He talked over me loudly, refused to de-escalate, and eventually said my dog is no longer welcome for grooming. I told him that’s fine; I have no intention of returning after this.
As someone studying ethics and leadership in HR/business, this was a textbook example of poor management: defensiveness, lack of composure, and failure to own or resolve a simple issue. A professional response could have retained a loyal customer with an apology and small gesture, instead of escalating and losing one permanently.
Leadership should review this for training on customer service and accountability. Disappointing from a company I’ve supported for years. *update: my dog is not elderly and this has nothing to do with meds; clearly owner didn’t do research before replying smh
