We came here to get all of the new puppy essentials a few days prior, and on coming home realized we had a coupon from the shelter that we could have applied. We came back to see if they could retroactively apply the coupon. There was not an easy way to do it, but the manager took his time and applied the coupon to every item from our previous trip. It was very much appreciated, thank you!

Got a dwarf hamster from here the day after Christmas. I had asked about him maybe a couple weeks prior because he was discounted due to Cosmetic defects. They said one eye was injured and may be blind . The lady said no one looked and him and he had been there almost 3 months. (Mind you it was only like 10% off). Now why didn’t they have him up for adoption like Petsmart would?? . He did not have cosmetic defects. They also said he had had a couple UTIs (probably misdiagnosed diabetes) He is almost completely blind and has diabetes ( which i figures out a couple weeks after i got him) . I would never return him. When i asked to get him they were pretty emotionless and offered no care suggestions or anything. Seemed like they totally did not care about the animals: They were in such small cages with no enrichment, like an inch of bedding, and crummy food. I hope to start fighting against these stores selling animals. This is my Ifrit before i had him tested for diabetes.

In college (20+ years ago) I interviewed for the PetSmart management training program. As part of the interview, they readily denounced the horrors of their rival PetCo. I didn't get the job, and I'm sure PetSmart is great, too; But I've been to this PetCo 3 times in the past week, talked to 4 different employees, and every single one of them has been pleasant, happy, helpful, honest about fish ownership, and just made shopping there a real joy. Thanks, PetCo!
