They won't let you cancel your subscription if your pet dies! You will keep getting a monthly charge to remind you of of your painful loss. Do they need to? No. Do they care? No. Straight up evil. After 9 great years I had to put my cat down earlier this month; she was the sweetest cat I'd ever owned. Obviously I was heartbroken. The staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout the death process. This 1 star review is for the corporate ownership who clearly only care about the bottom line and not a grieving pet owner. I had been on the Wellness + plan for years as my cat needed occasional dental work, which just renewed in November. When I contacted Banfield to cancel the policy after my cat died, they told me I needed to pay the remaining 9 months of the Wellness Plan, despite the fact that my cat is no longer alive to be seen and treated. I was flabbergasted - their reasoning was because I had used the plan benefits (procedure discounts, office visits) for 3 months, so I needed to pay the full plan amount. I obviously wouldn't have signed up for the full year if I knew my cat was going to die so soon. To top it off, my cat was too sick to receive any dental care so I never used the "Plus" part of my plan. I asked if they would at least lower the regular Wellness plan but apparently their "system doesn't allow that". I feel taken advantage of in a time of grief. When your pet dies, it feels evil to keep charging grieving owners for services they obviously won't be using. Now I'll get a painful reminder of my loss every month when I see the monthly Wellness charge hit my credit card. I understand this is a business and cancelling a plan would normally require paying the full year, but the death of a pet feels like this should be an obvious exception. I'm leaving my multi-year experience with Banfield with a very sour taste and I do not recommend anyone give their money to this company; it's clear they will do anything they can to suck more money from you before you go.

I’m extremely disappointed with the care we received at this vet clinic. There were clear symptoms showing that something was wrong with my animal, yet those symptoms were completely ignored. Despite explaining the issues in detail, the vet insisted she was in “perfect condition” without properly investigating or addressing what I was seeing. The exam felt rushed and dismissive, and my concerns were brushed off rather than taken seriously. No tests were suggested, no clear explanation was given, and no plan was offered. Because my pet’s symptoms continued, I was forced to seek a second opinion elsewhere, where the concerns were finally taken seriously. It’s upsetting to have to advocate this hard for your pet’s health. Given the high cost and lack of proper care, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this clinic to other pet owners. I have several animals that this has happened to.

I believe his name was Sam, but i called him Alex throughout the appointment lol. He was incredibly caring and his bed side manner was nothing short of amazing. I was so upset about my digs condition. He has better bedside manner then the actual doctor did. He never interrupted me. As where the Dr constantly did. He made me feel like he understood my feelings

I only liked one vet doctor there but aside from that, if you love your pet take them elsewhere. At one point, my diabetic cat was there for a full day for blood sugar curve testing and they gave her insulin without feeding her the full meal I brought in and gave specific instruction about. In fact, they only fed her 1/8 of her prescribed meal portion. They were unappologetic when I called them about it. The customer service also sucks and the receptionists often don't convey accurate messages about specific reasons for vet appointments. For example my cat's very specific euthanasia appointment, that I was already very upset about, was scheduled as a consultation! It was stressful enough having to go through that but when I arrived the tech acted like they had no knowledge of the purpose for that appointment! What I have learned through my experience with Banfield is that they operate like an insurance company and try to milk as much money from pet parents who are already going through a hard time with their sick fur baby and, aside from just one doctor there, they do not prioritize accurate or optimal care for pets.
