The employees seem nice and I always find what I'm looking for. I dislike that the store and online prices are often very different.

We visited this store today and wanted to buy one guinea pig that we really liked. However, a store employee refused to sell it to us, stating that we must buy two guinea pigs, as they do not sell them individually.
We are aware that guinea pigs are social animals and can experience stress if kept alone, and we were planning to buy a second guinea pig from another store (one that we personally preferred). In this way, the staff of this store is forcing customers to purchase a second guinea pig specifically from them, even if it is not the one we like.
All other stores in this chain allow customers to buy a single guinea pig and only recommend purchasing two, rather than making it mandatory.

This place is a joke! 45 minutes on a Thursday evening, more employees than there customers, which were nowhere to be found until I got a plastic bag and began to get my own fish. I knew how. I used to manage Oceanview aquatics. Fish has been my thing for more years than this little girl has been alive. She came out of nowhere, pushed my wife with her arm and snatched the bag sitting in the specimen container hanging on the side of the tank . She then claimed to not be comfortable with this sale. What sale? She wasn't selling anything except her poor attitude and how she didn't want to get in trouble for not being there to help a customer because I saw her in her car when I pulled up, smoking something on aluminum foil. Don't know what that's all about but I know I will be going back to get my dang fish .

Petco online prescription service is slow, irresponsible, and unsafe
Petco’s online system for prescription pet food is completely unacceptable.
My dog requires a prescription-only veterinary diet and cannot eat regular food. I submitted the prescription online exactly as instructed and placed the order using Petco’s advertised promotion.
Instead of reviewing the prescription promptly, Petco delayed the process for over 2.5 weeks. First, they claimed the document was unclear. I re-uploaded it immediately. Then there was another long period of silence with no updates or communication.
In the end, Petco simply canceled the order and refunded the money.
Prescription food is a medical necessity, not a regular retail item. Delays like this are irresponsible and can put pets’ health at risk. A company of this size should have a fast, clear, and accountable process for prescription verification.
If Petco cannot review veterinary prescriptions quickly, they should remove this option from online ordering altogether. Pet owners should not be forced to wait weeks when their animal depends on this food.
I do not recommend using Petco online for prescription diets.
