    One dog groomed well, one dog incomplete. Petco sells safe muzzles for dogs, but does not allow grooming staff to use them, even when the client advises them to use them. This means if a dog panics and snaps at staff, they stop the grooming. This is hypocrisy and puts the groomer in an unsafe work environment. Owners know if they have a nippy pet and a safe muzzle keeps the groomer safe. The muzzle choice should be the pet owner and the groomer, not corporate.

    This is the second time we've had a terrible grooming experience at this Petco location, and we're incredibly disappointed. We took our 7-month-old puppy for a full grooming service, but the work was not completed properly. The staff told us our puppy was "difficult" because she was frightened, which we believe was caused by the stressful environment—we could hear other dogs crying in the back when we dropped her off. Despite the supposed difficulty, we were charged the full price for a bath, conditioner, teeth cleaning, and nail trim. However, our puppy didn't feel or smell clean, and there was no sign of the leave-in conditioner. She was also more frightened when we picked her up than when we dropped her off. What makes this so frustrating is that we've taken this same puppy to the Petco at Interbay and never had these issues or been told she was difficult to work with. It's unacceptable to charge for services that were not provided. We will not be returning to this location.

    Called and said pets would be ready within the hour, and when I arrived, they said another hour would be needed. Not a fan of wasting time waiting unnecessarily.

    Jamie does a good job of keeping things going on track, and grooming is usually a good quality, but there seems to be an issue with scheduling & number of groomers available.

    Honestly, I would give 0 stars if there's an option! Groomer Jaime canceled an appointment on my dog, actually twice this time and time before. When I called the female groomer, she said that he cancels on people all the time. So I set up with her the next day. However, after 2 hours, I get a call from Jaime saying that she can't groom because of discoloration fur on my 10 year old dog. I pick up my dog and she wasn't bathed, barely groomed, crooked uneven hair, one paw was shaved too close to the skin, didn't trim nails, didn't clean ears and the topper is they presented a bill for full price over $100!!! I pointed this issue to the store manager. Anyways, take your beloved pets somewhere else. At this petco Northgate grooming, they hire rotten rude people that don't qualify for the grooming job! No, I do not recommend this horrible place.
