They won't let you cancel your subscription if your pet dies! You will keep getting a monthly charge to remind you of of your painful loss. Do they need to? No. Do they care? No. Straight up evil. After 9 great years I had to put my cat down earlier this month; she was the sweetest cat I'd ever owned. Obviously I was heartbroken. The staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout the process. I would leave them 5 stars. However, this 1 star review is for the corporate ownership who clearly only care about the bottom line and not a grieving pet owner. I had been on the Wellness + plan for years as my cat needed occasional dental work, which just renewed in November. When I contacted Banfield to cancel the policy after my cat died, they told me I needed to pay the remaining 9 months of the Wellness Plan, despite the fact that my cat is no longer alive to be seen and treated. I was flabbergasted - their reasoning was because I had used the plan benefits (procedure discounts, office visits) for 3 months, so I needed to pay the full plan amount. I obviously wouldn't have signed up for the full year if I knew my cat was going to die so soon. To top it off, my cat was too sick to receive any dental care so I never used the "Plus" part of my plan. I asked if they would at least lower the regular Wellness plan but apparently their "system doesn't allow that". I feel taken advantage of in a time of grief. When your pet dies, it feels evil to keep charging grieving owners for services they obviously won't be using. Now I'll get a painful reminder of my loss every month when I see the monthly Wellness charge hit my credit card. I understand this is a business and cancelling a plan would normally require paying the full year, but the death of a pet feels like this should be an obvious exception. I'm leaving my multi-year experience with Banfield with a very sour taste and I do not recommend anyone give their money to this company; it's clear they will do anything they can to suck more money from you before you go.

I've had good experiences here. A few years back, my dog had a persistent ear issue, and I ended up going to a more expensive vet to get a second opinion...turns out Banfield had it right all along and I've been with them exclusively since.

Dr. Cantrell needs to learn how to speak with humans properly. I dropped off my dog for an arthritis injection and labs. Dr. Cantrell calls me to yell at me about my dog's heart murmur. I never brought up the murmur nor my questions about an echo to Dr. Cantrell. She had obviously read a note from another doctor at a different location, and she decided she hated me and needed to yell at me before ever getting on the phone with me. I did not ask Dr. Cantrell anything regarding my dog's heart, yet she still felt the need to argue with me and yell at me about it. Didn't ask you, Dr. Cantrell. I suggest you work on speaking to people first, then you can work on being a professional while clocked in at your job. Update: I confirmed in the records, 2 years ago Dr. Cantrell did a routine dental cleaning for my dog. When she called to tell me the price, I asked why the price was so high. Her response was "I don't know". I then said I don't have $1200 just laying around, to which Dr. Cantrell responded "well then you better start scrapping those pennies together". Just horrible for a doctor to speak to people like that, especially while at their place of employment.

I have a senior dog that I have been taking to the Aurora Banfield for 15 years now. Dr. Cantrell, Sheena and the whole staff are so good with her. They really go above and beyond to care for my dog Mojo! The last time I was in they even went so far as to give her a brush because she was shedding her summer coat. Having a dog that age can be a lot but thanks to the staff she is a happy healthy pup!!
