Never got a proper diagnosis for my cat's weight issues or eye infection besides "she's probably just fat" and "probably has FIV" despite charging $700 for exams, also works with an "insurance" company that is a total scam, $80 monthly membership fee ON TOP of copay and sign on fee and you can't cancel the plan without paying back everything they claim to have spent on your pet. They don't get your permission before running a comprehensive exam either, even if you select a different kind of appointment. And if you try to get support for any of these issues they will claim that they will call you back and never do.

I have been with Banfield for my pet and now my partner's pet for about 7 years, and I am extremely disappointed in my last two visits. I no longer feel confident trusting this office with my pets' care.
At my most recent appointment, I arrived and was told by the receptionist that my doctor had been bitten on Friday and would not be in today. I truly hope the doctor is doing well, because things like this happen, but with several days of notice I would expect a corporate clinic like Banfield to either find coverage or at least notify me that my appointment was canceled. I received no call, no automated message, and no communication of any kind. This resulted in more than an hour of driving in rush hour for an appointment that could have easily been rescheduled.
At the appointment before this, my older dog Stella was limping and we brought her in for an injury evaluation. Dr. Carrington Joel Stephenson treated her, and his manner felt cold and overly clinical. He told me my ten-year-old golden retriever would need to be sedated (for an additional fee) in order to take x-rays. I later sought a second opinion from a non-Banfield veterinarian who was able to x-ray her without sedation and was surprised that sedation had even been recommended.
The reason I stayed with this location was because the techs and assistants are wonderful. They consistently show genuine care and compassion during both routine visits and stressful moments. It is unfortunate that the doctors and administrative processes do not provide the same level of care.
After years of loyalty, these recent experiences have made me reconsider continuing services at this Banfield location.

Disappointed in my visit today. I called prior to the appointment to request a nail trim if they had the time and I was told they did and would add it on.
Once in the room I asked the tech if they knew the typical vaccinations required for apartment living and she went over the ones she knows of and told me of a few other that are recommended especially for Washington, one involving dogs coming in contact with rat pee and said she knows people who have had that happen so she highly recommended the vaccine. (Felt like fear mongering) I decided to go ahead and get all the ones she suggested just to be safe.
She also asked about a pedicure (nail trim) and I said yes I called yesterday to request it being added on and they said they would have the time.
My dog is very high energy so we agreed they would take him to a separate room for the service since I believed he would be calmer without me present.
Within 10 mins the vet brought him back. And said he did just fine.
Once she brought him back she immediately started giving advice on how to help him calm down. It almost felt like a personal attack as if I don’t take care of my dog. My dog is almost 6 years old and I’ve had him since a puppy, he is well trained, he’s just an excited animal and I have tried everything in the books to make him calm down and I felt I had to defend everything she brought up and let her know I’ve tried it all, he’s just a happy excited high energy dog.
Upon her telling me this I realize his nails are still pretty long and tapping on the floor so I asked if they trimmed his nails, and she said no but she could take him back and do it then.
I went to the front desk to check out and once they were ready I was then told one of the vaccines (the one for rat pee) would need a booster and I’d need to come back in three weeks, which I wish was mentioned when asking what vaccines I wanted to do.
So after finding out I would need to come back I asked if I would have to pay for another office visit just for the booster and was told yes because it takes the doctors time.
So after paying almost $300 today I’m expected to come back in three weeks and pay another almost $150 for a booster when I wasn’t informed when talking about the vaccines that it would be needed, I was almost scammed out of a nail trim because had I not asked if it got done they wouldn’t have followed through, and I was also not asked if I wanted the rabies for 1 year or 3 and was given the 1 year, when I wanted the 3. I poorly assumed since he’s been there before and got the 3 year it would be given or asked which I was wanting.
Large cooperations just feel very scammy and I don’t appreciate the lack of communication.
I was the last appointment of the day and it was very clear they wanted to go home, but that doesn’t make it okay to cut corners.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
