Deeply disappointed with Aurora Veterinary Hospital - it has gone downhill since it was acquired by a corporation (private equity?). Our pet has been a patient with this practice for over 5 years but after Dr. Bernstein left the practice there was a noticeable change. A lot more difficulty contacting the office - phone messages and emails are not answered. This has caused delayed care for our loved one. Even some of the speciality veterinarians we work with are having difficulty acquiring information from this practice for coordinating care. We have to follow-up multiple times via email and phone call to request medical records. This delay in care has negatively affected the health outcomes of our loved one. I can no longer recommend this office to anyone looking for a primary care veterinarian.

I was referred to this office by another one of their long time patients (10+ years!). This office came highly recommended! Dr Bartlett was a delight! She answered all my questions and treated my furbaby Sir Rupert with kindness and compassion. We got a good game plan, cost estimates were emailed, no waiting time! They were busy (which is a good sign), but not too busy to take the time and care for attention and details. The front office receptionist, assistant, and Dr were all informative and knowledgeable, kind and caring, and we couldn’t be more pleased! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

UPDATE: Why don’t you call ME? Or respond with your name, so I can reach out directly for you? I already wrote that I tried to call and no one returned my VM or answered the phone. Your generic response that you wish I would’ve reached out to you directly is ridiculous, because I did before even writing this. And in the review, I wrote that I did so. You guys are terrible. This is not for the vet! Dr. Bartlett was fantastic. Caring and smart, empathetic and competent. This is for the front Desk. Like other reviews, I also found them to be absolutely horrific. As a new client responding to their $25 first visit and seeing good reviews, I showed up for my 330 appointment and was told that I missed my appointment which was at 3. I told them no, it was actually at 3:30 and they wanted me to show them the email confirmation or they would not see my dog. I did, and it was for 330. No Apologies, nothing other than a mumbling that the doctor decided to double book. Doesn’t instill much confidence. My dog was panting and wanted water while the Tech was taking notes. She said she would get him water afterwards. But the notes taking went on and on, and I asked if we could get him water and then continue the notes. She did comply, but the first concern was not the dog in front of her, but her notes. The front desk upon checkout told me that I didn’t qualify for the $25 first exam and my bill was $400 (Much of which I totally understood was for blood labs) because my dog had been in the hospital a week earlier and this wasn’t a wellness visit. I showed them their website and they argued back-and-forth me that because my dog had something wrong with him, the visit did not qualify. Finally, I wrote back and said “well you’re right, I’m wrong because the customer is always wrong“. The reply from them to that, was “exactly“. Seriously! On a medical note, I’ve been waiting all day for the blood lab results and none have been forthcoming. I have called multiple times and they never answer the phone. I will go over there before they close today to try to get the results. Before writing this review, I tried to call to talk with the Hospital manager as responses to other dissatisfied people with the front desk, suggested they do. But of course, they don’t answer the phone nor return calls.

We just visited Aurora Veterinary Hospital for the first time for a consult on our dog's broken tooth. We were able to get an appointment right away and both staff and doctor were wonderful--professional, thorough, and very kind.

To the owner— I have called. Several times. I even tried again just now. I have left voicemails but have never received a call back. This has been an issue for over a year. I have called so many times and no one answers. I see that you read reviews so hopefully someone can contact me after reading this. Dr. B is fantastic with my anxious dog but I wouldn’t recommend bringing your pet here unless you’re able to go in person any time you need to contact them and if you’re willing to wait months even for urgent issues. They also will only give physical prescriptions….
