They won't let you cancel your subscription if your pet dies! You will keep getting a monthly charge to remind you of of your painful loss. Do they need to? No. Do they care? No. Straight up evil. After 9 great years I had to put my cat down earlier this month; she was the sweetest cat I'd ever owned. Obviously I was heartbroken. The staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout the death process. This 1 star review is for the corporate ownership who clearly only care about the bottom line and not a grieving pet owner. I had been on the Wellness + plan for years as my cat needed occasional dental work, which just renewed in November. When I contacted Banfield to cancel the policy after my cat died, they told me I needed to pay the remaining 9 months of the Wellness Plan, despite the fact that my cat is no longer alive to be seen and treated. I was flabbergasted - their reasoning was because I had used the plan benefits (procedure discounts, office visits) for 3 months, so I needed to pay the full plan amount. I obviously wouldn't have signed up for the full year if I knew my cat was going to die so soon. To top it off, my cat was too sick to receive any dental care so I never used the "Plus" part of my plan. I asked if they would at least lower the regular Wellness plan but apparently their "system doesn't allow that". I feel taken advantage of in a time of grief. When your pet dies, it feels evil to keep charging grieving owners for services they obviously won't be using. Now I'll get a painful reminder of my loss every month when I see the monthly Wellness charge hit my credit card. I understand this is a business and cancelling a plan would normally require paying the full year, but the death of a pet feels like this should be an obvious exception. I'm leaving my multi-year experience with Banfield with a very sour taste and I do not recommend anyone give their money to this company; it's clear they will do anything they can to suck more money from you before you go.

Banfield has taken of my two cats for the last five years. Specifically Dr John Carlos Haines has seen them for almost every single wellness, illness and surgery they have needed. My cats are very comfortable with him and I appreciate his knowledge and kindness. Overall staff is great, check in has been smooth and I like being able to grab essentials at PetSmart while I am there.

I scheduled my appointments online weeks in advance and specifically noted that I needed a flight certificate. The day before my visit, the front desk called to confirm my appointment and what it was for. Despite this, when I arrived the next morning, I was informed that no veterinarian on staff could complete flight certifications and that nothing could be done. This should have been communicated to me well before my appointment so I could’ve made other arrangements. The short-haired blonde woman with glasses was the only person who showed any initiative. She made multiple calls and managed to find two clinics that could accommodate a same-day appointment. Her effort was appreciated. However, after being told they could not perform the service I requested prior, I also called around for appointments and rearranged my schedule. At that point, I no longer felt that I could trust them to do so. After many years with this insurance, I will be canceling my account with Banfield, as this is not the first time they have made a significant error.

I’ve been going here for years for my cat Chloe and this is the only location I really trust. She recently was diagnosed with kidney failure and they (specifically my doctor John Haines) has been amazing with teaching me how to give the IV, giving me solutions like the senior plan to help me save money and only recommending certain tests to be done for her that are necessary so we can spread out all the things the plan covers. My doctor Dr Haines is so great- he’s been transparent from the beginning, makes me hopeful and generally cares about the pets he sees- and you can tell! I would recommend him to anyone who wants someone they can trust and ask 1000 questions to and he will be able to give you information without explaining it in a way that you can’t understand.10/10! I also came in today to get some supplies for Chloe as she was out of IV fluid and some other things and the new manager here is amazing! I didn’t get her name- but she was able to get my meds approved for my cat way earlier than planned- originally 2 hours from time I called (I needed them sooner or I’d be not able to come in till a different day) and she called me back and let me know she found a doctor and got them approved! Most employees won’t bother to go the extra mile, and she did and I bet she’s like that in so many other ways as a manager. She even sent me home with an ice pack to keep my sedating medicine cold as I wouldn’t be able to get home right away and it requires refrigeration. She was super kind and friendly and if I wasnt already a customer- she’d be the reason I would come back to this location! Please keep her :-)
