Quick & easy! Prices a little high for vaccines but it was an easy process so didn't mind paying a little more.

I scheduled my puppy's very first vet appointment online. I WOULDN'T have if I knew how things would go. I made the appointment to get his very 1st vaccinations & to have his nails clipped as well as needing to assess a possible broken tooth and just in general his 1st wellness checkup. That is what I was under the assumption would happen when I scheduled it. Nope not the case at all. Upon arriving I thought it was going to be within a seperate area of Petco, NOT in the back corner of the store where the technicians used the large dog food bags as their chair & makeshift shelves for their equipment and such. Very unprofessional!! I did NOT expect to have to wait in line just in the middle of the isle with anyone and their dogs that were busy shopping, I'd have to move my puppy so that they could shop. And with having basically a toddler on leash & having to stand in line and rotate whenever someone came by was difficult. There were 4 people before me, so it was well after the scheduled appointment time I made before we checked in. Now at this time, my puppy is noticeably anxious and getting frustrated and attention is lack there of, I was getting to attend to him and finish registering him with a gentleman at a podium when one of the techs comes and talks to him, interrupting my registering just so they could chat on who was off and who wasn't. Mean while my puppy is now barking and everyone cause well he's a toddler on a leash having stay put and listen, which isn't his idea of a good time. Finally we managed to get checked in, only now have to walk down after isles and back up again to get to where the techs were, when we could have just walked straight to them that was less than 10 feet away. They asked what Charlie was there for, which irritated me cause I stated that when I made the appointment and again just now registering. I told them again, vaccination and tooth, nails clipped..etc. Only for them to tell me they don't clip nails, & that they can't look at his tooth. They gave Charlie 2 shots, I'm really not sure of what. They tell me he will need to come back for the 2nd dose of 1 shot. They tell me that the 2nd visit is included in the price of the 1st. Then they hand me a syringe with something in it and tell me to give it to him when we get home. Huh?? What?? I paid them to give him whatever he was needing. Why was i being told to administor meds?? At this time I'm beyond itritated at the whole situation and my puppy is even more irritated we just wanted to get out of there. So if I didn't have to bring Charlie back for his 2nd dose that I already paid for, I WOULD NOT GO BACK THERE EVER AGAIN! The whole situation was not pleasant.

I had an 11:15 appointment on 1/10/25. I arrived on time with my puppy. There was a woman already being helped so I stood behind her about 4 feet and chatted with her young daughter who was very talkative and friendly. I was directly in front of the Vetco employee and in her line of sight, without question.
I waited 20 minutes in that same spot. When that woman was done, I stepped toward the podium and was told they had to go in order of appointment. Ok, I stepped back. The Vetco employee started talking to someone who had an appointment at 11:20, after mine. I asked her, if they have to go in order, why wasn’t I next? My appointment was at 11:15. She said I was outside of my 10 minute window (if this is true, the 11:20 appointment was also outside of her 10 minute window and had literally JUST walked up). I told her I had been there since 11:15, I was on time. She then had to go discuss with the other people in the back.
She came out and told me that nobody saw me standing there waiting (at the front of the line for 20 minutes in direct line of sight of the employee) so they cannot see me today. So basically the Vetco team was accusing me of lying about standing in line all that time...even though everyone who was there waiting was behind me! I was shocked, and reiterated that I was on time, and I’ve been waiting since 11:15. She said they were already behind, and couldn’t help me. I was refused service, even though I was ON TIME FOR MY APPOINTMENT AND WAITED IN LINE FOR 20 MINUTES.
I am beyond frustrated with this!! I have never received worse service in my entire life. I have a local dog business with hundreds of clients. I have referred COUNTLESS clients to Vetco and have even shuttled dogs to Vetco to get vaccinated. I have 4 dogs and all of them have gone to Vetco. I buy my dog food and treats through Petco. All of that stops today. Not only will I not refer anyone to Vetco, I will tell them never to go. Not one more dollar of mine will go to this business.

Booking online was great and easy! But didn’t like the fact that you book a specific time slot, just to get a notification to arrive 10 mins early before appt time. Also staff didn’t feel too friendly compared to other we’ve been too :( appointment felt pretty rushed and staff kept questioning why our dog isn’t neutered and if we’ve planned on getting him fixed. Love the easiness of booking with vetco but possibly will be going to a different location.
