We just moved to Washington from Chicago. Needless to say, I was worried that our baby, Vader, would have a difficult time with a new environment and groomer. Not only that, we have read and seen some horror stories of Newfies being shaved when an owner asks for a "puppy cut." Upon arrival, we were met by a friendly groomer by the name of Zoey. I explained the type of cut we were looking for and Zoey listened and asked questions to clarify what was wanted. She was so understanding. When she opened the door to introduce herself to Vader, she immediately lowered herself to his level and gave him pets, kisses and hugs. This really warmed my heart because I've seen people within the field not wanting Vader too close due to drool. Zoey did not care and that made me immediately love her, because I knew he was in great hands. Upon pick up, I watched Zoey meticulously trim the hair around his ears while literally holding a conversation with him. It was the cutest thing. He looked so good after and was definitely happy. We are grateful for people like Zoey because not only do we feel that his needs are being met, but he is genuinely being loved on. This makes us happier than ever! I immediately asked Zoey if we could continuously book Vader with her. We are happy to say that we now have ourself a wonderful Washington groomer named Zoey and we couldnt be happier. Rani was a stray and very scared of being groomed. Zoe and Becka have worked weekly with us for the past 5 weeks leading up to Rani's first trim, coaching us on how prepare Rani for success as well as short weekly training sessions for Rani.
