- HSHaze Sommer4 days ago1.0Where's Mortimer? There was a young man working in the aquatic/fish department who I had been consulting with regards to my sick betta. He provided me with so much great information that really helped my fish get back to a healthy state. He also educated me on the aquatic plants, which for the first time buying them there, lived. He ensured I bought the correct plants that would thrive in my set up and not melt and leave me feeling dissatisfied. I went back a couple of days ago to update on my fish and to purchase some shrimp after speaking with him about them on a prior visit. Boy, was I disappointed. First, I went in the morning when I knew he normally worked and waited quite a while in the fish department, which looked pretty much abandoned. No lights on at all in the plant tank (i was also wanting more plants). After a few minutes I went and asked the cashier to call someone, which they did and 5 minutes later still no one showed up so I left. I came back in the afternoon and had to go find the person who told me they were now in charge of that area (Tate). I told them I wanted shrimps and some info and if i asked a direct question I would get an answer but as a new shrimp owner, I was definitely needing/wanting them to take the initiative to ensure I had all the info I needed. Mortimer was like aquapedia, so knowledgeable and you didn't have to pry that education out of him, he was enthusiastic and WANTED to have customers informed. Every time I left happy, informed and satisfied but if this is going to be the new normal, I will just order my fish related supplies from Aquarium Co-op and Amazon. You had a ready good thing going and you blew it petco.
