  This petco sells exotic frogs but then fail to offer a reliable source of live fruit flies to feed them. Countless times they either do not have them in stock or the flies are all dead in the container.

  We usually really enjoy Petco, but we recently had an experience that honestly deterred us from wanting to come back. After purchasing dog food, we saw a sign outside advertising a puppy vaccination clinic from 9:00am–12:30pm that stated walk-ins were welcome- with no additional details listed. Based on that information, we assumed it would be fine to bring our 10-week-old puppy in for his second round of vaccines. To be fair, we did arrive at 12:00pm. If we had simply been told they were full due to multiple walk-ins, that would have made sense given the time. However, when we arrived, the employee who asked for our puppy’s name told us that “walk-ins are actually not welcome.” When we mentioned that the sign stated otherwise, she responded with, “Yeah, we need to change that.” She then explained that they don’t take walk-ins during the first 30 minutes or the last 30 minutes, and that there’s usually a waitlist- none of which is listed on the sign. The unclear signage was frustrating, but what bothered us more was the delivery. Being told that walk-ins “aren’t actually welcome” made us feel like we had done something wrong, when in reality we were simply responding to an advertisement posted outside the store. A brief apology or acknowledgment of the confusing signage would have gone a long way. She did offer to see if we could be added to a waitlist or scheduled for an appointment, but by that point we decided to leave and ended up taking our puppy to Coastal instead. We hope the signage can be updated to better reflect the actual policy so other customers don’t have the same experience.

  We were honestly hesitant about going to Petco for grooming after a previous experience that didn’t go well. At one point, my pup ended up waiting in a kennel for hours without communication. I didn’t receive an update until I called — and even then, I had to follow up again before learning she was ready because the groomer had left for the day. My pup was already anxious around that groomer, but she was a mess by the time I picked her up. She's well-trained, well-behaved, and absolutely loves people, so for her to be this anxious was very concerning and frustrating. Then we found Lindsey, and everything changed. She’s always friendly, receptive, and so engaging. Since my pup can be anxious during drop-off, Lindsey takes the time to talk her through it and reassure her. She always reminds me that it’s totally normal and that she calms down as soon as she takes her back. It makes such a difference knowing she’s in such caring hands. We’re so grateful we found her!

  Went there to buy a parakeet that the sign stated that parakeets were ,50 per cent off that was stated on holding pin at the store and sale ended on 31of January I purchased a parakeet but didn't get the sale price of 50 per cent off paid full price didn't realize til I got home paid full price I Petco to get a refund for the half price associated stated you have to buy two parakeets and get the second one half price but the sign didn't say that it stated 50per cent off parakeets Michael Patton

  Tara who sometimes works the register is such a friendly, helpful person. I wish there were more people like her in customer service! Love this petco although there's usually a long-ish line. Wish they had at least one more dedicated checker at a time. Otherwise it's a great store and I visit 2x a week to get supplies for my animals.
