Absolutely horrendous experiences. My cat went in with a head wound from a roommates cat. They told me it’d heal by itself, not to worry, found a cat claw in it, gave me low dose antibiotics…. Fast forward to 2yrs later and they still are telling me the still open wound will heal itself and there’s no reason for concern. Then it’s they’ve done all they can do I need to go to dermatology. Tell me it’s my fault even when I’m asking over and over again for a stronger antibiotic but no one takes me seriously. Tells me I don’t know what I’m doing or whats wrong with my cat. Even though I’m the one handling taking care of him, I see how my cat is doing not them. I take my cat to the banefield on pacific in Lacey and they fix the issue within two weeks. Listened to me, gave me the stronger med I’ve been asking for for years and it heals. They didn’t tell me I needed to go to dermatology, didn’t tell me they were out of options, didn’t tell me I didn’t know what I was talking about. They listened gave me multiple options and talked to me like a human. If I could do zero stars I would. Their negligence could’ve cost me my baby. And their inability to treat the customers as actual people shows in their care. My baby didn’t deserve the way he was treated or to feel that way for 2yrs. Makes me sick they never listened or took me seriously. They shouldn’t be allowed to practice if their treatment of clients is to belittle and dismiss concerned parents.

They won't let you cancel your subscription if your pet dies! You will keep getting a monthly charge to remind you of of your painful loss. Do they need to? No. Do they care? No. Straight up evil.
After 9 great years I had to put my cat down earlier this month; she was the sweetest cat I'd ever owned. Obviously I was heartbroken. The staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout the death process. This 1 star review is for the corporate ownership who clearly only care about the bottom line and not a grieving pet owner. I had been on the Wellness + plan for years as my cat needed occasional dental work, which just renewed in November. When I contacted Banfield to cancel the policy after my cat died, they told me I needed to pay the remaining 9 months of the Wellness Plan, despite the fact that my cat is no longer alive to be seen and treated. I was flabbergasted - their reasoning was because I had used the plan benefits (procedure discounts, office visits) for 3 months, so I needed to pay the full plan amount. I obviously wouldn't have signed up for the full year if I knew my cat was going to die so soon. To top it off, my cat was too sick to receive any dental care so I never used the "Plus" part of my plan. I asked if they would at least lower the regular Wellness plan but apparently their "system doesn't allow that". I feel taken advantage of in a time of grief. When your pet dies, it feels evil to keep charging grieving owners for services they obviously won't be using. Now I'll get a painful reminder of my loss every month when I see the monthly Wellness charge hit my credit card. I understand this is a business and cancelling a plan would normally require paying the full year, but the death of a pet feels like this should be an obvious exception. I'm leaving my multi-year experience with Banfield with a very sour taste and I do not recommend anyone give their money to this company; it's clear they will do anything they can to suck more money from you before you go.

Canceled wellness plan after years of going to Banfield. The best vet has left this location and my last experience was totally unsatisfactory. The vet who saw my cat seemed to be terrified of the cat as soon as they walked in the clinic and barely tried to touch my cat. They had me complete weight and dewormer. Why am I paying these people if they can't even touch my cat. Very disappointed!!! I would give 1 star if my previous experiences hadn't been positive. This visit was highly disappointing!

After 13 years of being on a banfield wellness plan, I am in the process of leaving a DV relationship, and therefore, seriously lacking funds. Somehow I have still managed to continue paying for her plan, on time, as I have for 13 years. I called the clinic and expressed that I found a program where I can exchange needles, for free, for my cat, but they are not open until tomorrow. Considering that needles cost pennies in the quantity they are purchased for medical use at a vets office, I asked if they could please give me two needles, one for tonight and one for tomorrow AM so my cat can get the insulin they need to survive. The receptionist that answered my call told me I could buy a pack of needles from them, but they would not give me two needles to get by for one day and while I am actively struggling and have been paying them on time for the entirety of this cats life. She treated me like garbage and insinuated that I was doing something wrong by asking, and by addressing the fact that it is crazy to not provide such a basic life saving item, one time, when we have been loyal to them for thirteen years. There have been many other issues through the years with them overcharging us for tests that were not needed, pressuring me to drug my cat before bringing her in, and the 6 months it took them to determine that she even had diabetes. I am done with this company and I hope others also find better places to take their kiddos.

They stressed that a vaccine must be updated within 2 weeks, this information was corrected by other location as 6 weeks. I hope their communication gets better. I loved their Bellevue location.
Telling someone that a vaccine needs to be done within 2 weeks makes them think it needs to be done in 2 weeks.
Update: I am not sure what they did but now he is upset when I trim his nails. This is new behavior, he has never done this before.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
